Introduction
During the Dragonflight Pre-Patch, Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination, and Sepulcher of the First Ones will be simultaneously featured as Fated Raids. During this time encounters within each specific raid will include an additional mechanic and items will drop at increased item levels. If you would like to learn more general information about the Fated Raids system as a whole, please see our overview below. Otherwise, continue to use this page for specialization-specific tips.
On this page, you will find Blood Death Knight specific information to deal with each boss in the Sanctum of Domination raid.
This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Blood Death Knight and what you can do to deal with each fight as best as possible.
A note on Level 50 talents: The recommendations will show either Purgatory or Red Thirst for all bosses. Purgatory will be used when learning the encounter and the tank damage patterns. Once you are comfortable with those, Red Thirst will yield better results.

The Tarragrue
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against The Tarragrue.
- Superstrain
- Unity
Recommended Covenant: Kyrian, Night Fae or Necrolord
Tips
- In order to engage this encounter you will need to kill the Infused Goliaths. When defeated they will drop an Anima Orb with 3 choices of powers. Once you have defeated all 4 Infused Goliaths the boss will spawn.
- The boss will periodically enrage with Fury of the Ages. This enrage can be stolen with the Disembodied Mystic Hands Anima Power. If no players have this, it should be removed with Soothe effects instantly.
- You can soak Chains of Eternity with Icebound Fortitude.
- You can negate the stun from Overpower with Icebound Fortitude.
- At 10% health the last phase will begin where the boss will be empowered and remove all anima powers! Run away from the boss as long as you can. He will kill you if he hits you.
- Heroic: You can soak Remnant: Soulforge Heat with Anti-Magic Shell and not receive any debuffs.
- Mythic: Anti-Magic Shell will no longer prevent debuffs from Remnant: Soulforge Heat.
For more information, please refer to our The Tarragrue guide.
The Eye of the Jailer
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against The Eye of the Jailer.
- Superstrain
- Unity
Recommended Covenant: Kyrian, Night Fae or Necrolord
Tips
- Be ready to get to the edge of the room to use the Chains when Annihilating Glare is cast. The boss will do a full 360 degree spin with this beam, you can jump over the gap behind the boss with the chain to avoid being hit.
- Use Rune Tap to reduce the damage the raid will take from Deathlink.
- During the intermission (75%/50%/25%) you will be assigned one Deathseeker Eye to tank. Keep it away from the other Eye as if they are close to each other they will pulse damage to the raid. Likewise when one dies it will also pulse this damage so ensure they die at similar times to each other.
- Utilise Anti-Magic Shell to mitigate damage from Spreading Misery in the intermission. Also be mindful that Spreading Misery puddles do not disappear, so ensure you place these in good spots.
- In the final 25% HP of the boss, Immediate Extermination is triggered which reduces your healing taken by 10% per stack (this impacts Death Strike). At 10 stacks you will be unable to heal.
- Heroic: Bring the Stygian Abductors to the boss with Death Grip so they can be cleaved down.
- Mythic: During the intermission, players will be debuffed with Scorn and Ire, one debuff will be associated with each Eye. If players with opposite debuffs collide they will both die. Be mindful of other players during intermissions.
For more information, please refer to our The Eye of the Jailer guide.
The Nine
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against The Nine.
- Superstrain
- Unity
Recommended Covenant: Kyrian, Night Fae or Necrolord
Tips
- In all phases, swap at 3 stacks of the relevant debuff of the phase. These will be Unending Strike in Phase 1, and Pierce Soul in Phase 2.
- During Phase 1, each 100-energy ability will try and move you. You want to do the opposite of the path it is moving you. If it is pulling you in, run out of the circle and if it is pushing you out, run into the circle.
- Interrupt Song of Dissolution instantly.
- Bring Formless Mass adds to the bosses for cleave DPS with Death Grip and stop any casts of Siphon Vitality.
- Anti-Magic Zone should be used to mitigate the damage from Arthura's Crushing Gaze.
- When Annhylde's Bright Aegis appears move the boss(es) out of it.
For more information, please refer to our The Nine guide.
Remnant of Ner'zhul
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Remnant of Ner'zhul.
- Superstrain
- Unity
Recommended Covenant: Kyrian, Night Fae or Necrolord
Tips
- There will be Orbs spawning during the fight, these will have Eternal Torment shields on them. In order to remove these shields, you need to hit them with Suffering, which is cast from the boss through you.
- Position yourself so that you are between the boss and an orb.
- Swap after each cast of Suffering.
- When players are affected by Malevolence be close by at the edge of the room as when the debuff expires (or is dispelled) every player will be knocked away from them.
- Death's Advance can negate the knockback from Malevolence.
- Mythic: At 80% HP the armor that shatters off will also cast Suffering, therefore you need to be mindful of the locations of the boss, the orb and the shattered armor.
For more information, please refer to our Remnant of Ner'zhul guide.
Soulrender Dormazain
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Soulrender Dormazain.
- Superstrain
- Unity
Recommended Covenant: Necrolord
Recommended Talent Swaps: Change Bloodshot for Gorefiend's Grasp.
Tips
- Swap after each cast of Ruinblade.
- Group together Marsworn Agonizers and ensure they do not reach Garrosh.
- You will want to also make sure the Mawsworn Agonizers do not cast Agonizing Nova, as this will deal a very large amount of damage to the raid.
- Players affected by Tormented will increase the damage the Mawsworn Agonizers take if they are in range, however any players in range will take ticking Shadow damage.
- Anti-Magic Zone will be useful when you are snapping chains from Warmonger Shackles.
For more information, please refer to our Soulrender Dormazain guide.
Painsmith Raznal
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Painsmith Raznal.
- Superstrain
- Unity
Recommended Covenant: Kyrian, Night Fae or Necrolord
Tips
- When you are targeted by Cruciform Axe (P1), Reverberating Hammer (P2), Dualblade Scythe (P3) run to the corner of the room and use Rune Tap.
- Swap after each weapon throw as it will apply Blackened Armor.
- Anti-Magic Zone will be useful when multiple traps are exploding.
- If you need to get past the wall of iron stars you can utilise Soulshape or Door of Shadows. You are able to negate the stun from getting hit with Icebound Fortitude however you will still take the damage.
- Mythic: When the tank is hit by any weapon, all players with chains will also emit spikes in a cross. Raid positioning is crucial for success.
For more information, please refer to our Painsmith Raznal guide.
Guardian of the First Ones
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Guardian of the First Ones.
- Superstrain
- Unity
Recommended Covenant: Kyrian, Night Fae or Necrolord
Tips
- The tank swap on this fight is a tank combo. The active tank will need to be hit by themselves with Sunder and then split the damage of Obliterate. with other players. During the Obliterate cast the other tank should taunt for the second Obliterate hit and be alone for the final Sunder hit.
- Watch out for the Sentry Orbs as if you are near them you will be silenced.
- Be mindful of the energy of the boss when it reaches 0 they will start to cast Purging Protocol repeatedly. Each cast will increase in power and in order to stop these casts is to recharge the bosses energy by dragging it into an Energy Core.
- You will want at least one Purging Protocol cast to happen as this destroys any Sentry Orbs that are active.
- Mythic: If Obliterate does not hit at least 4 players the boss will lose 20 energy.
For more information, please refer to our Guardian of the First Ones guide.
Fatescribe Roh-Kalo
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Fatescribe Roh-Kalo.
- Superstrain
- Unity
Recommended Covenant: Kyrian, Night Fae or Necrolord
Tips
- Run away when you are affected by Invoke Destiny. When it explodes, a Shade of Destiny add will spawn. Do not let this add reach you, if it hits you it will trigger Overwhelming Burden, which will deal a large amount of raid damage.
- After a tank swap is done, the boss will cast Diviner's Probe. This is a good moment to use Anti-Magic Shell.
- Help interrupt Anomalous Blast from the Fatespawn Anomaly adds in the intermissions.
- If you are a Necrolord Do not use Abomination Limb whilst you are running away from the add spawned from Invoke Destiny as you will force it to explode and wipe the raid.
For more information, please refer to our Fatescribe Roh-Kalo guide.
Kel'Thuzad
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Kel'Thuzad.
- Superstrain
- Unity
Recommended Covenant: Kyrian, Night Fae or Necrolord
Tips
- Swap tanking as soon as Soul Fracture is cast, as the current tank will take a large amount of extra damage if they are hit and the subsequent melee swing will be deadly.
- Soul Fracture will spawn multiple adds that need to be killed as a priority and interrupted. Once they are killed, a Soul Fragment will be available for the tank to collect. Each Fragment collected reduces the debuff stack by 1.
- Anti-Magic Zone can be useful to mitigate the damage from Frost Blast or multiple spike explosions from Frozen Destruction.
- When the boss reaches 0 health, he will retreat inside the Phylactery and a team of players will go inside to damage it. When the Remnant reaches 60% or 20% HP the boss will return.
- During intermissions, adds will spawn. You will need to tank the Abominations and face them away from the raid as they will cast Demolish, which can be side stepped but attacks all players in front.
- After the Phylactery has been defeated three times the final Phase will begin. This Phase is the same as Phase 1 but adds will spawn throughout the Phase adding complexity to the encounter.
- Mythic:The amount of Soul Fracture adds and debuffs are 5 (up from 3).
For more information, please refer to our Kel'Thuzad guide.
Sylvanas Windrunner
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Sylvanas Windrunner.
- Superstrain
- Unity
Recommended Covenant: Kyrian or Necrolord
Tips
- Phase 1: The main swap will be after she has cast Ranger's Heartseeker. Every 7 seconds she will gain a stack and at 3 stacks she will fire them all at the tank. Note: When Sylvanas is above 6 stacks this can happen back-to-back which will require fast taunting.
- When she casts Windrunner she is not moving around the room, her hitbox is stationary so you do not need to chase after her.
- When Veil of Darkness is being cast run out of it.
- If you are targeted with Wailing Arrow run to the side of the room and use Rune Tap.
- Intermission: During the intermission everyone will be chained to a Domination Chains. On Heroic you do not want to be close to your own chain, as it will deal damage to you, instead help other players kill theirs.
- You can use Death's Advance to negate the pull from the chain.
- Dodge the debris flying across the room.
- Phase 2: Avoid falling off from the Haunting Wave.
- Towards the end there will be many adds that require tanking, swap based on your Lashing Wound stacks.
- Phase 3:The tank swap in this phase will be Ranger's Heartseeker, this functions as it did in Phase 1.
- Watch out for the Shadow Dagger, the pattern will be shown on the floor before they are thrown.
- When Raze is being cast jump to another platform. If you remain on the platform after this cast has finished, you will be unable to jump to another platform and die.
- Heroic: Pick up Banshee's Bane pools and get dispelled in a corner of the platform to keep the area clear. Only get dispelled when there are no mechanics that require the raid to be spread out.
For more information, please refer to our Sylvanas Windrunner guide.
