Breaking the Chains Achievement Guide: How to get the Hand of Salaranga Mount

The Hand of Salaranga requires you to only complete one achievement: Breaking the Chains. Unfortunately, this achievement has 9 sub-achievements which in turn have even more sub-achievements, making this one of the hardest and most time-consuming mounts to obtain in Patch 9.1.

"Salaranga was the most cunning of her kin and hid amongst the Beastwarrens. She struck at the Banished One with a horde of bestial allies. It did not matter. "

Breaking the Chains consists of 9 sub-achievements that all need to be completed in order to obtain the Bracelet of Salaranga and unlock the Hand of Salaranga mount. All of these achievements are related to various activities in the zones of Korthia and The Maw.

• Chains of Domination;
• On the Offensive;
• Minions of the Cold Dark;
• Reliquary Restoration;
• Explore Korthia;
• Death's Advance;
• The Archivists' Codex;
• Treasures of Korthia;
• Conquering Korthia.

For this achievement you need to complete the new storylines of Patch 9.1. Some of these are gated behind a specific Renown level.

The On the Offensive achievement is tied to completing a number of smaller achievements involving the various Covenant Assaults in The Maw. It is important to know that the quests that are up during each Assault are random. This means that you might not have some quests, which are required for an achievement, up when you go looking for them. When this happens you will just have to wait for the next Assault and hope they are available then.

Defeat all of the Tormentors of Torghast special encounters in The Maw.

1. Look for the Tormentors of Torghast event in The Maw — these happen every 2 hours.
2. Finish the event and one of the following final bosses will spawn:
   • Versya the Damned;
   • Gralebboih;
   • Promathiz
   • Sentinel Pyrophus;
   • Gruukuuek the Elder;
   • Zul'gath the Flayer;
   • Mugrem the Soul Devourer;
   • The Mass of Souls;
   • Algel the Haunter;
   • Sentinel Shakorzeth;
   • Kazj the Sentinel;
   • Intercessor Razzram;
   • Malleus Grakizz;
   • Manifestation of Pain;
   • Golmak the Monstrosity.
3. Keep finishing the Tormentors of Torghast event until you have slain all the bosses.

Collect all of the Archivist's relics in Korthia.

There are a total of 20 Relics that are available. However, they are not all available at once. You need to reach a certain reputation level with The Archivists' Codex in order to pick up specific relics. You also need to go through a short quest chain to get started with The Archivists' Codex Reputation.

The first 5 Relics are available as soon as you finish the quest What Must Be Found.

To obtain the following 4 relics you need to acquire Tier 2 with The Archivists' Codex and buy Key of the Inner Chambers, Key of Many Thoughts, Key of Flowing Waters, and Korthite Crystal Key from Archivist Roh-Suir.

The following relics require a Teleporter Repair Kit. You can buy the Repair Kit from Archivist Roh-Suir once you reach Research Tier 3 or you can kill Rares in Korthia as they also have a chance to drop it.

The following relics require a Repaired Riftkey. You can either buy this item from Archivist Roh-Suir at Tier 4 or you can kill Rares in Korthia as they also have a chance to drop it. You need to use the Repaired Riftkey to enter a Rift Portal as all of these relics are inside the Rift.

This is a fairly easy achievement that you might already have depending on your activities so far in Korthia. All you have to do is reveal all 9 areas of the zone.

Complete the following special encounters in Korthia and The Maw.

Some of the following enemies are only found in the Rift phase of The Maw. To enter the Rift phase you have multiple options:

1. Enter a Rift Portal using a Repaired Riftkey obtained by killing Rares in Korthia or purchasing it from Archivist Roh-Suir after reaching Research Tier 4 with The Archivists' Codex.
2. Wait for the Night Fae Assault and use the Unbalanced Riftstone item from the quest A Shady Place.
3. Make use of another player's or your own Collapsing Riftstone to enter the Rift from anywhere in The Maw or Korthia.
