Talent Cheatsheet
Wrathion, the Black Emperor
We advise you to use the following essences against Wrathion, the Black Emperor.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
In Phase One, swap on two stacks of Searing Armor. Searing Breath does significant damage, so always use a cooldown on the second stack. You may wish to use Azeroth's Undying Gift for this in place of Conflict and Strife or Formless Void.
When swapping, and in general, be mindful of turning the boss as anyone behind him will trigger a Tail Swipe, which is liable to kill damaged players.
Use Transcendence: Transfer to get back in after Gale Blast if you are tanking.
In Phase Two on Heroic mode, use Ring of Peace and Leg Sweep to stop assassins from reaching their targets.
On Mythic, the slow from Creeping Madness is removed by Tiger's Lust.
For more information, please refer to our Wrathion, the Black Emperor guide.
Maut
We advise you to use the following essences against Maut.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
Swap when the other tank's stacks of Shadow Wounds expire, or when you are able to after dealing with Dark Manifestation adds. These adds spawn after Dark Manifestation, a tank debuff, expires. Take it far from the raid and tank it near a Devoured Abyss void zone. Moving it into the zone will interrupt its cast. If you cannot consistently move it in and out of the zone, tank it inside it, but this reduces the damage the add takes significantly. Some raids may choose to 3-tank to make add management easier.
If you wish to end Phase One early to reduce raid damage, taking a Dark Manifestation add to the boss will add a large amount of mana to the boss.
In Phase Two, use your massive mobility to soak Mana Orbs, and go to healers when your debuff is expiring to help them.
For more information, please refer to our Maut guide.
The Prophet Skitra
We advise you to use the following essences against The Prophet Skitra.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
Swap tanks when the other's Shadow Shock falls off. Do the first swap at 4 stacks. Move the boss to cleave the Psychic Outburst add after it finishes its initial cast.
Use Ring of Peace to control Absolution adds, but be careful not to knock them poorly. You may wish to save it for an emergency rather than using it as a primary control tool. Paralyse can also be used.
In Phase Two, communicate with your co-tank to find out which illusion you have.
For more information, please refer to our The Prophet Skitra guide.
Dark Inquisitor Xanesh
We advise you to use the following essences against Dark Inquisitor Xanesh.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
This is a movement heavy encounter for many DPS. Ensure the bosses frontal cone, Abyssal Strike, does not hit players dealing with mechanics. Players in the Void Ritual especially cannot move.
For more information, please refer to our Dark Inquisitor Xanesh guide.
The Hivemind
We advise you to use the following essences against The Hivemind.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
While there is no tank swap, bosses must be tanked on top or away from each other, depending on which has control of the Hivemind. This swaps at regular intervals. During Ka'zir's control, move a boss to the Volatile Drone. Tek'ris's frontal cone can and should be moved out of.
For more information, please refer to our The Hivemind guide.
Vexiona
We advise you to use the following essences against Vexiona.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Azeroth's Undying Gift — Rank 3: Hardened Azerite
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
Keep both the boss and the Void Ascendant add facing away from the raid, as their frontal cones are dangerous. The Void Ascendant tank should try to tank cultist adds, with a well placed Summon Black Ox Statue being helpful.
The Void Ascendant tank should use cooldowns during Annihilation and try to tank the cultist adds just inside the beam. You may not be able to do this for every cultist. After the Ascendant dies, tanks should swap and the former Vexiona tank, who now has high stacks of Void Corruption should take the orb on the ground and cast their own Annihilation — ideally towards cultists, but do not kill the other tank.
Use cooldowns when Despair is cast on you, and keep your health up with Gift of the Ox orbs and healing potions/healthstones.
For more information, please refer to our Vexiona guide.
Ra-den the Despoiled
We advise you to use the following essences against Ra-den the Despoiled.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
In Phase One, swap on Nullifying Strike. Move the boss away from the orb you wish to kill. Use Summon Black Ox Statue to quickly pull the adds to the boss and tank them.
In Phase Two, try to keep your health low for Decaying Strike. The debuff from this deals 100% of your health when the strike hit every 2 seconds. You will probably want to cancel Ironskin Brew and any other mitigation effects when it is casting. Use this macro:
- /cancelaura Ironskin Brew
- /cancelaura Power word: Fortitude
- /cancelaura Glimmer of Light
- /cancelaura Atonement
- /cancelaura Blessing of sacrifice
- /cancelaura Life Cocoon
- /cancelaura Lifebloom
- /cancelaura Rejuvenation
- /cancelaura Ironbark
- /cancelaura Fortifying Brew
You should remove or add other buffs depending on your raid setup, gear, trinkets etc.
For more information, please refer to our Ra-den the Despoiled guide.
Shad'har the Insatiable
We advise you to use the following essences against Shad'har the Insatiable.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
As a Brewmaster, your strength against physical damage means you should simply tank the boss for the entire fight, taking Crush and having the other tank taunt for Dissolve, after which you re-taunt. If you are not tanking the boss, you may wish to soak Entropic Orbs in Phase Two with heavy cooldowns, if boss timers line up.
In Phase Three, kite the boss as acid pools appear.
For more information, please refer to our Shad'har the Insatiable guide.
Drest'agath
We advise you to use the following essences against Drest'agath.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
Swap when a tank recieves Volatile Seed. When you are debuffed, run and explode on high health tentacles or those you need to kill soon. Do not hit fellow raiders. Use Transcendence: Transfer to get back to the boss after Entropic Crash.
For more information, please refer to our Drest'agath guide.
Il'gynoth, Corruption Reborn
We advise you to use the following essences against Il'gynoth, Corruption Reborn.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
Swap on two stacks of Eye of N'Zoth.
In the intermission, use Ring of Peace to keep adds and mind controlled players away from raiders. Interrupt other adds.
For more information, please refer to our Il'gynoth, Corruption Reborn guide.
Carapace of N'Zoth
We advise you to use the following essences against Carapace of N'Zoth.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
Throughout the whole fight, swap on roughly 2 stacks of Black Scar.
Adds will spawn frequesntly throughout the fight. As always, clever usage of Summon Black Ox Statue will help kill these faster, and this is especially important in this fight as any players who are meleed will lose haste and movement speed.
For more information, please refer to our Carapace of N'Zoth guide.
N'Zoth the Corruptor
We advise you to use the following essences against N'Zoth the Corruptor.
- Major Slot
- The Crucible of Flame — Rank 3: Concentrated Flame + Ancient Flame
- Minor Slots
- Conflict and Strife — Rank 3: Strife
- Nullification Dynamo — Rank 3: Null Barrier
- The Formless Void — Rank 3: Symbiotic Presence
Tips
In Phase One, it is important to move Psychus well. Have him at the edge of the room when he casts Creeping Anguish, and near a synapse when it dies to stack up Synaptic Shock. Provoke can cover tight scenarios, but try to avoid them. Swap on Mindwrack occasionally.
In Phase Two, choose a tank for Physical and Mindscape realms. The physical tank should tank the Basher Tentacle, and the Mindscape tank should deal with Psychus as normal.
In Phase Three, tank the Thought Harvester and swap on Mindwrack.
In the Mythic phase, simply run out from the raid when you get Event Horizon and your co-tank has taunted.
For more information, please refer to our N'Zoth the Corruptor guide.
