Defensive Tips

  • Because Volatile Concoction Icon Volatile Concoction deals increased damage the more HP you are missing, so I strongly recommend using a defensive if you are at low HP when it expires.
2.19.

Cooldown Usage

  • Cooldowns should be used primarily as soon as they come up and on the boss, there may be an overlap with a lot of high priority adds where you wish to delay this depending on which eggs your guild breaks at which times.
2.20.

Mechanical Tips

  • Using Hover Icon Hover when you have the Sticky Web Icon Sticky Web debuff will help you dash out quicker to make dispelling easier and safer for your raid.

Tips for Nexus-Princess Ky'veza for Devastation Evoker

2.22.

Defensive Tips

  • You want to have a charge of Obsidian Scales Icon Obsidian Scales available if you are getting hit by Nether Rift Icon Nether Rift or Twilight Massacre Icon Twilight Massacre.
  • You want to keep Renewing Blaze Icon Renewing Blaze for the intermission as you will be spread out and sometimes out of range of healers.
2.23.

Cooldown Usage

  • On cooldown.
2.24.

Mechanical Tips

  • Good Hover Icon Hover usage is key to doing maximum damage on this encounter, you will find yourself needing to use it heavily in phase 1, during phase 2 you want to position yourself right on the edge of the safe spots so you can take a single step left or right when casting Shattering Star Icon Shattering Star or instant cast Living Flame Icon Living Flame to move to safety without needing to expend Hover charges.
2.25.

Mythic Tips

  • In phase 1 you want to use Renewing Blaze Icon Renewing Blaze on either the first Nether Rift Icon Nether Rift or the first Twilight Massacre Icon Twilight Massacre cast, using it later will prevent you from having it for the intermission, if you happen to get both the Nether Rift and a Twilight Massacre use a charge of Obsidian Scales Icon Obsidian Scales.
  • In phase 2 you want to use your Renewing Blaze Icon Renewing Blaze right before the Regicide Icon Regicide debuff expires on you, this will provide you with a tremendous amount of self sustain throughout the phase, you will want to use a charge of Obsidian Scales Icon Obsidian Scales toward the end of the phase to cover the overlap where every raid member is afflicted by Regicide Icon Regicide.

Tips for The Silken Court for Devastation Evoker

Defensive Tips

  • The only part of the encounter that you will need a defensive for every time it occurs is when the boss is casting Web Vortex Icon Web Vortex you will want to have a charge of Obsidian Scales Icon Obsidian Scales up for each of these.

  • On cooldown.
2.29.

Mechanical Tips

  • Hover Icon Hover can be used freely in phase 1 and 2 with not alot of forethought, there is very little forced movement that will cost you dps, you want to ensure that you have maximum available charges when entering the intermission phases as they have alot more movement which will impact your damage quite severely.
2.30.

Mythic Tips

  • Mythic you will want to use your first cooldowns 20 seconds in, your second set during the first damage amp in phase 2, your next set as soon as phase 3 starts, and your final set during the lust burn at the end.

Tips for Queen Ansurek for Devastation Evoker

2.32.

Defensive Tips

  • If you are afflicted by Reactive Toxin Icon Reactive Toxin you will want to pop a defensive as this is a hard hitting damage over time effect.
  • If you are assigned to detonate the Reactive Froth Icon Reactive Froth use Renewing Blaze Icon Renewing Blaze beforehand as you will be required to move a bit outside of the raid afterwards to ensure you do not kill people as your green circle AoE expires.
  • If you are getting pulled in by Wrest Icon Wrest straight into a Expulsion Beam Icon Expulsion Beam a quick usage of Obsidian Scales Icon Obsidian Scales will save you from death.

  • Deep Breath Icon Deep Breath can be held for a short duration at certain points in phase 1 to get a large free cleave overlap on Silken Tomb Icon Silken Tomb aswell as immuning the root on yourself.
  • in Mythic Deep Breath Icon Deep Breath will be used primarily as a means of escaping your Silken Tomb Icon Silken Tomb debuff, you will be break the first, second and fourth set of roots.
2.34.

Mechanical Tips

  • There is a lot of forced movement which can result in lost uptime, particularly in phase 1, so good Hover Icon Hover usage will be very important here.
  • Liquefy Icon Liquefy and Web Blades Icon Web Blades will force you to move at fairly regular intervals, Web Blades will spawn 4 sets of lines, so after you have seen the 4th set spawn, you can lock your positioning and not worry about moving until after they have all fired.
  • Maintaining Hover Icon Hover during Wrest Icon Wrest will be crucial for maximizing dps on breaking the shield during the first intermission.
2.35.

Mythic Tips

  • In Mythic you will need to be very disciplined with your defensive usage, you will need atleast one charge of Obsidian Scales Icon Obsidian Scales for the 2nd Wrest Icon Wrest in the intermission, aswell as a charge on the 2nd platform in phase 2 when the debuffs are being dispelled.
  • In Mythic for phase 3 you will need to save a charge of Obsidian Scales Icon Obsidian Scales for both Acolyte's Essence Icon Acolyte's Essence and if you get the Royal Condemnation Icon Royal Condemnation debuff as you will very likely die without them.

General Defensive Usage Notes

Devastation Evoker has several defensive spells that you should plan to use and rotate throughout mechanics.

  • Obsidian Scales Icon Obsidian Scales
  • Renewing Blaze Icon Renewing Blaze
  • Rescue Icon Rescue with Twin Guardian Icon Twin Guardian talented.
2.38.

General Cooldown Usage

Devastation Evoker has a few cooldowns to think about using optimally on the fights in Nerub-ar Palace:

  • Dragonrage Icon Dragonrage — Our main, 2-minute cooldown.
  • Deep Breath Icon Deep Breath — Barely counts as a cooldown, with its roughly 30-second cooldown, but it is still important to ensure you have it for key burst moments.

In addition to the general rotation, you want to keep in mind that your goal is to use your cooldowns as often as possible during an encounter. With that in mind, your secondary goal is to use them at the correct time.

I highly suggest using some Addon or WeakAura to track the estimated time to die of your target/boss target. Method Raid Tools has this as an option if you are already using this addon. By tracking time to die, if you know that you can only fit one more cycle of your cooldowns in before the boss dies, you can choose to hold these cooldowns to better line up with Bloodlust Icon Bloodlust, your Potion, or even your other cooldowns, trying to look for opportunities to stack all of them.
