Devastation Evoker PvP Stat Priority, Gear, and Trinkets — The War Within (11.0.5)
Choosing your gear carefully is essential for your Devastation Evoker in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the correct stats, followed by advice on how to select the rest of your gear and your trinkets.
This page is part of our Devastation Evoker PvP Guide.
Stat Priority for Devastation Evokers in PvP
The stat priority for Devastation Evokers in PvP is as follows:
- Intellect;
- Versatility;
- Mastery;
- Haste;
- Critical Strike.
Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the most important secondary stat as it increases the damage/healing you do and reduces the damage you take. Mastery ( Mastery: Giantkiller) is the next best stat, as it will help increase your overall damage output and make it difficult for teams to recover.
Gear Recommendations
General Guidelines
In general, Devastation Evokers want to get trinkets that increase their overall damage output. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility. The reason you want to increase Versatility is because it increases both your damage and healing and reduces the damage you take. For gear, you want anything that has Versatility and Mastery on it. This will increase your overall damage output and your survivability. Here is the best equipment we recommend you use as a Devastation Evoker.
- Head: Horns of the Destroyer
- Neck: Algari Competitor's Amulet - Crafted with Versatility & Haste
- Shoulders: Fumaroles of the Destroyer
- Cloak: Forged Warmonger's Cape
- Chest: Forged Gladiator's Scaleguard
- Wrists: Forged Warmonger's Armguards
- Hands: Rippers of the Destroyer
- Waist: Algari Competitor's Chain Girdle - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
- Legs: Legguards of the Destroyer
- Feet: Algari Competitor's Chain Treads - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
- Ring 1: Algari Competitor's Signet - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
- Ring 2: Forged Gladiator's Signet
- Trinket 1: Forged Gladiator's Medallion
- Trinket 2: Forged Gladiator's Insignia of Alacrity
- 2H-Weapon: Algari Competitor's Staff - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
Note: It is essential to be wearing 2 PvP trinkets. This will give you a Stamina and stat boost that will increase your survivability.
Devastation Evoker Tier Set
As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is also important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed by 50% in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Devastation Evokers, this is your tier set:
- 2:set - Disintegrate damage increased by 10% and Pyre damage increased by 10%.
- 4-set: Eternity Surge's cooldown is decreased by 5.0 sec and it now grants Essence Burst.
4-set is not required for Devastation Evokers, but getting 2-set is recommended.
Devastation Evoker Embellishments
Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have 2 Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Devastation Evokers:
- Ascendance/ Writhing Armor Banding. While in combat, Ascendance grants 89 of a random secondary stat, stacking up to 10 times. Writhing Armor Banding doubles this affect. This combination of Embellishments is the best for Devastation Evoker. Ascendance can only be crafted on a weapon.
- Duskthread Lining. This Embellishment significantly increases your Versatility when you are above 80% health. This can be used if you do not want to double the affect of Ascendance with Writhing Armor Banding.
Gems and Enchants
Here are the best enchants for a Preservation Evoker:
- Cloak: Enchant Cloak - Whisper of Silken Speed
- Chest: Enchant Chest - Crystalline Radiance
- Bracers: Enchant Bracer - Chant of Armored Speed
- Legs: Sunset Spellthread
- Boots: Enchant Boots - Scout's March
- Rings: Enchant Ring - Glimmering Mastery
- Weapon: Enchant Weapon - Authority of Radiant Power
Versatile Onyx is the best gem you can use. You also get access to 1 Meta Gem. You should use Cognitive Bloodstone for the meta slot.
