Discipline Priest Best Legendaries in Shadowlands — Dragonflight 10.2.5
Legendary Powers are targetable, unique effects that you can imbue certain base items with through the Runecarving system. In Shadowlands, these enable you to customize your Discipline Priest, drastically improving your performance, and are arguably the most important aspect of your gear.
The purpose of this page is to help you pick the right legendary powers (and item slots for them) for your character, depending on the content you are interested in.
Introduction: Legendaries in Shadowlands
By heading into Torghast, you will be able to create gear with Legendary Powers through the new Runecarving system. These powers boost your abilities in a unique way, but you can only wear one of them at a time. This guide will list, explain, and rank each power, so that you can understand which are the best ones to use on any given situation.
Best Legendaries for Discipline Priest
Bolded slots are preferable due to carrying more stats than the alternative options, thus making better use of the higher item budget and customized stats of Legendaries, or avoiding a slot with a Domination Socket.

Covenant Specific Legendaries for Discipline Priest
Kyrian's Spheres' Harmony grants up to a minute in
cooldown reduction for
Boon of the Ascended. The required stacks to
reach maximum cooldown reduction is very simple to reach and should be
achievable in most situations. In mythic plus content, this legendary provides
significant benefit, allowing you to get far more Boon casts off over the
course of the dungeon. In raids however, this legendaries viability is left
at the mercy of the encounters design. Some encounters may have mechanic
timers that result in this legendary providing very little value if not no
value at all.
Venthyr's Shadow Word: Manipulation provides a significant
buff to your critical strike upon either of the debuffs applied by
Mindgames being consumed. While this legendary provides an overall
more consistent value in a raiding environment than
Spheres' Harmony
due to its lack of reliance on encounter timers, you do need to stay aware of
the need for the boss or target of your Mindgames cast to take an action to
consume either of the debuffs.
Necrolord's Pallid Command summons a Brooding Cleric upon
cast of
Unholy Nova which will passively heal for you. Despite this
legendary dealing damage for the Shadow Specicialization, it will only
provide healing for Discipline.
Night Fae's Bwonsamdi's Pact provides an additional mask
that allows you to enhance the effects of an existing mask. Unfortunately,
due to the poor performance of the covenant as a whole for Discipline, this
legendary does nothing to change that.
The Addition of the Unity Legendary in 9.2
The Unity Legendary power added in 9.2 allows us to use the
covenant specific legendaries discussed above without needing to craft each
one individually. When you change covenants, the Unity legendary will swap
its current effect based on your active covenant. You also have the ability
to craft Unity on any slot instead of only being restricted to the few a
normal legendary would be restricted to.
Please note that in order to wear double legendary in 9.2, Unity must be one of those two legendaries. A normally crafted covenant legendary will not allow you to wear two legendaries.
Best Raiding Legendaries for Discipline Priest
Kyrian
While raiding as a Kyrian Discipline Priest, your go to legendaries will be
Clarity of Mind and
Unity. Clarity of Mind allows you to get
significantly longer atonements out via
Rapture to allow better
usage of
Boon of the Ascended. The Unity power for Kyrian provides
cooldown reduction for Boon, which in some situations where the encounters
timers allow you to utilize this well can be very powerful and in other
situations provide almost no value at all.
Venthyr
While raiding as a Venthyr Discipline Priest, you have a few options that
will be determined on a fight by fight basis. You will always use
Unity to be able to utilize double legendary. Your second
legendary will be
The Penitent One granting you a strong proc that
massively buffs your next
Penance cast which synergizes very well
with our 4 piece tier set.
Night Fae and Necrolord
While raiding as either Night Fae or Necrolord, you will utilize
Clarity of Mind and
Unity as your two legendaries.
Best Mythic+ Legendaries for Discipline Priest
In mythic plus content, once you have access to your 4 piece tier set bonus
our recommendation is to utilize Unity and
The Penitent One.
Prior to getting access to the 4 piece bonus or in other very specific
circumstances, you can consider
Twins of the Sun Priestess as an
alternative option.
Best Torghast Legendaries for Discipline Priest
If you plan on running Torghast with a group of people, consider referring to the Mythic+ recommendations if your group is large enough that you have to heal for most of the time.
Otherwise, the recommendations below assume you are running solo or with only 1 or 2 extra players, in which case improving your own power is the most important consideration.
In Torghast, we recommend using Unity and
The Penitent One
as your two legendaries.
