Raiding Hero Talents for Discipline Priest
Oracle will be your go-to Hero Talent choice in raiding content, providing massive windows of burst healing via
Evangelism,
Shadowfiend, and
Premonition of Piety/
Premonition of Insight. The longer
Atonement duration, the strong overheal redistribution effect of Piety, and the ability to tailor the output window to the incoming mechanic via controlling when you send the Insight
Penance casts gives you incredible windows of healing to cover the hardest moments of the fight with ease.
Your ability to talent into Inner Focus and
Divine Aegis combined with the slightly stronger
Power Word: Shield's via
Preventive Measures and
Weal and Woe give you the ability to spot heal incredibly well.
Voidweaver is not very far behind in potential HPS, but fills quite a different role. Where
Oracle is so heavily focused on maximizing its Evangelism window, Voidweaver brings a much flatter healing profile providing much more frequent burst HPS with
Mindbender and
Entropic Rift. While your peaks will not be as strong as what Oracle is capable of, your overall HPS will be fairly competitive.
Mythic+ Hero Talents for Discipline Priest
Voidweaver will be your best and default Hero Tree Talent choice for Mythic Plus
content as a Discipline Priest.
Voidweaver provides significant burst via the
Entropic Rift itself,
Void Blast being a significant upgrade to
Smite, and
Voidheart being a large
Atonement buff. With all of these tools being tied to
Mind Blast, you will have access to them
very frequently to meet the constant incoming damage requirements of a Mythic Plus Environment as well as being
significantly less reliant on having your pet available to do any relevant healing.
While Voidweaver will remain the default choice,
Oracle
can provide a decent alternative in keys where you want to lean a bit more heavily
into the single target or limited target healing profile that Oracle can be tailored towards a bit easier, but overall lacks in raw hps compared to what Voidweaver offers.
Best Hero Talent Builds for Discipline Priest
Best
Voidweaver Build for Discipline Priest
Voidweaver does not have many choices to make in the tree.
No Escape can have niche usage if there are adds that need to be
slowed, but by default taking the movement speed increase via
Dark Energy
will be the better choice with how low mobility Priest already is.
Voidwraith is a significantly stronger version of our existing pets
Shadowfiend and
Mindbender and will almost always
be the better choice compared to
Depth of Shadows. In both Raid and
Mythic+
Darkening Horizon is taken to increase the amount of time you
get to spend in the first throwing out powerful
Void Blasts.
From a defensive perspective within Voidweaver,
Void Leech
will be your default choice, but
Embrace the Shadow has potential in
situations where a large amount of the damage taken is Shadow damage.
Best
Oracle Build for Discipline Priest
For choices within Oracle for raiding,
Waste No Time will often be an HPS loss
due to front loading the
Power Word: Radiance
Atonement's to the beginning of the GCD
instead of the end, so unless its enabling you to cast Radiance's where you would otherwise be unable
to cast them, it is harmful to be talented into Waste No Time.
Divine Feathers will be the
default option for personal movement speed. The actual effect of being able to give your feather to
another person can potentially be utilized, but you need to ensure that the party member you're trying
to give the feather to doesn't avoid the feather somehow resulting in you not getting your much needed
mobility. As a result, its highly recommended to just continue using the
Angelic Feather's for
yourself and talenting into Divine Feathers for the additional 10% movement speed.
Save the Day
can be used depending on the scenario if Double
Leap of Faith has value.
Perfect Vision will be the default here to allow
Premonition to line up well
with
Evangelism. In scenarios where Evangelism is not being used on cooldown and is being held
to 2 minutes or slightly longer,
Fatebender can be taken instead to provide a significant power
increase to the various buffs. Defensively
Desperate Measures is a solid default option, allowing
your
Desperate Prayer to last longer. Either choice here is fine depending on how often you find
yourself needing to cast
Power Word: Shield or
Flash Heal on yourself.
Hero Talents Rotation for Discipline Priest
Almost no changes occur rotation-wise when playing Voidweaver as most of the
value happens passively. There are a few things to keep in mind, however.
- Many situations with no pet active can now be covered solely with a
Mind Blast window due to the various
Voidweaver effects it activates.
The Main changes for Oracle revolve around when and how to utilize the various
Premonition buffs.
- With
Perfect Vision allowing
Premonition to be a 45 second cooldown, you end up with two charges of Premonition available for every
Evangelism cast.
- Due to the order of the buffs, if you utilize the
Premonition charges in groups of two with each
Evangelism, you will have
Premonition of Piety and
Premonition of Insight available every time either via themselves or via
Clairvoyance.
Premonition of Insight will result in you being able to send many
Penance casts rapidly in your
Evangelism window.
