Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Discipline Priest in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats, followed by advice on how to choose the rest of your gear and your trinkets.

This page is part of our Discipline Priest PvP Guide.

1.

Stat Priority for Discipline Priests in PvP

The stat priority for Discipline Priests in PvP is as follows:

  1. Intellect;
  2. Versatility;
  3. Mastery;
  4. Haste;
  5. Critical Strike;

Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the strongest secondary stat at all times due to it increasing your damage and healing done and reducing your damage taken. Mastery is a flat healing increase to every target with Atonement Icon Atonement. Haste is also an amazing stat as it reduces your global cooldown, increases your cast and channel speed, reduces the cooldown of important spells such as Power Word: Solace Icon Power Word: Solace, and increases the tick rate of your DoT.

Cyrce's Circlet for Discipline Priest

Cyrce's Circlet is a new ring introduced in Patch 11.0.7 that you can acquire by completing several activities on Siren Isle. The ring has 3 sockets, which can fit a different kind of gem each. There are four different gems available for each of the three sockets, for a total of 12 gems, so there is quite a bit of choice on what to socket.

Cyrce's Circle ring does not have any secondary stats and in PvP, Cyrce's Circlet Gems are heavily nerfed. It is not recommended to use it.

2.3.

Discipline Priest Tier Set

As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is also important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed by 50% in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Discipline Priest, this is your tier set:

  • 2-set: Atonement Icon Atonement healing increased by 5.0%.
  • 4-set: Smite Icon Smite and Penance Icon Penance increase the damage of your next Mind Blast Icon Mind Blast by 25% or absorb amount of your next Power Word: Shield Icon Power Word: Shield by 15%, up to three times.

4-set is not required for Discipline Priests, but getting 2-set is recommended.

2.4.

Discipline Priest Embellishments

Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These affects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have 2 Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Discipline Priest:

  • Energy Redistribution Beacon Icon Energy Redistribution Beacon. While above 80% health, your direct healing will redistribute up to 2% of your health to your target. This is great for increasing your overall healing output. Because this affect does stack, it is recommended to use 2 of them.
  • Duskthread Lining Icon Duskthread Lining. This Embellishment significantly increases your Versatility when you are above 80% health.
