Elemental Shaman DPS Gems, Enchants, and Consumables — The War Within (Season 1)

This section specifically covers the optimal gems, enchants, food, and flasks to use for your character. To get a more detailed rundown of the different stats for Elemental Shaman, please visit our dedicated Stats page.

We highly recommend using Raidbots to sim your character's ideal gems and enchants, as they might differ from our general recommendations.

The best stat for Elemental Shamans is Mastery, followed by Haste then Critical Strike. You should most likely be gemming for Mastery.

You should use Elusive Blasphemite in one socket. To gain adequate benefits from its unique effect, you should use one Quick Onyx, one Masterful Ruby, one Masterful Emerald and potentially one Masterful Sapphire. Using Masterful Amber however is probably too big a loss of secondaries for most people, so we do not recommend it. Fill in remaining sockets with Quick Onyx (unless you are already above 18 000 Mastery). For people who do not value the movement speed at all, you can use Culminating Blasphemite but note that the unique effect is fairly minor for Elemental Shamans.

You should apply Algari Mana Oil on your weapon every couple of hours. If you are using Improved Flametongue Weapon for some reason, for example in a PvP build, do not use this oil, as it does not stack with the Flametongue Weapon imbue.

You should be drinking Flask of Alchemical Chaos.

Your stat potion should be Tempered Potion. Use these when you will do the most damage with your abilities, likely during your cooldowns and/or Bloodlust/ Heroism. You can also obtain Fleeting Tempered Potion from Cauldrons that can be spawned by Alchemists.

You should keep a stock of Algari Healing Potions to use when at low health, and if you have a Warlock in the group, grab their Healthstones and use them as well. Do not macro these together, they are best used separately! You can also obtain Fleeting Algari Healing Potion from Cauldrons that can be spawned by Alchemists.

You should be eating from a primary stat Feast at all times, either Feast of the Divine Day, Feast of the Midnight Masquerade, or Hearty Feast of the Midnight Masquerade.

If Feasts are not available, eat Outsider's Provisions, Beledar's Bounty, Jester's Board, or Empress' Farewell instead.

In addition, if you can afford it, you should use Crystallized Augment Runes to increase your primary stat. Augment Runes are expensive, and disappear on death, so use them wisely!
