Elemental Shaman DPS Ny'alotha Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.5
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Elemental Shaman for each boss of the following raid: Ny'alotha. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.
Introduction
In this section, you will find information and guidance for each boss individually in Ny'alotha as a Elemental Shaman. These are not complete encounter guides, but rather provide specific tips for any Elemental Shaman on each boss.
As a preliminary, I would point out that Wind Rush Totem is
handy on many fights in this raid. I will not describe all the possible uses,
but they should be obvious in practice. Notably, any time the raid has to reposition
after forced movement/knockbacks/transitions.
Similarly, we will not describe the various ways you can use Astral Shift.
It will either be obvious, or depend on your/your raid's needs. Many abilities can
be interrupted by
Wind Shear. Read your dungeon journal to know which and
figure out with your raid if you need interrupt rotations/assignments.
Many of the fights in Ny'alotha will have multiple targets up most of
the time, meaning in most cases you should have multiple Flame Shocks
running in order to "funnel" DPS where you need it with
Lava Surge procs.
Keep in mind that targets must live for most of the duration of the Flame Shock
for this to be worth doing.
The essence choices for many Ny'alotha fights will vary depending on what you
have (and at what rank) at your disposal but also on your raid's strategy and
personal preferences. While Worldvein Resonance is at the top
of sims, it is highly dependent on raid stacking/movement (and other people in your
raid using it) and will generally not be ideal in the first couple weeks of the
raid in most situations. Moreover, sims assume being fully decked in high level
Ny'alotha gear. This will not be the case for at least the first couple weeks
of the raid.
While probably not a default pick on any encounter, consider Blood of the Enemy
or
Essence of the Focusing Iris if your raid is struggling to burst down groups
of adds, especially if the cooldown of the essence lines up well.
While Worldvein Resonance is at the top of sims, it is very
conditional (as you can read above) and will be an inferior choice for most players
compared to
Guardian of Azeroth. Make sure many people in your raid will be using
it and SIM YOUR CHARACTER to determine if it is worth using.
