Elemental Shaman DPS Sanctum of Domination Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.5
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Elemental Shaman for each boss of the following raid: Sanctum of Domination. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.
Introduction
During the Dragonflight Pre-Patch, Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination, and Sepulcher of the First Ones will be simultaneously featured as Fated Raids. During this time encounters within each specific raid will include an additional mechanic and items will drop at increased item levels. If you would like to learn more general information about the Fated Raids system as a whole, please see our overview below. Otherwise, continue to use this page for specialization-specific tips.
On this page, you will find Elemental Shaman specific information to deal with each boss in the Sanctum of Domination raid.
This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Elemental Shaman and what you can do to deal with each fight as best as possible.
The rule of thumb for Legendaries is: Are there significant adds that can be
cleaved? If so, Echoes of Great Sundering is probably the way to go. If not,
Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence is almost certainly the way to go.
Most tips should still be relevant but we do not know how Blizzard's Dragonflight Pre-Patch balance pass will affect every boss; some tactics may change.
The following talent tree will work on every boss although some adjustments may be valid in some cases. You can also import it directly into the game with the following string:

The Tarragrue
We advise you to use the following Legendary against The Tarragrue: Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence.
Use Earth Elemental when you get targeted by
Grasp of Death so you can
benefit from
Vital Accretion and be much easier to heal for the full duration.
Use
Astral Shift when you are first targeted.
Drop a Tremor Totem when the boss casts
Predator's Howl.
If talented, use Wind Rush Totem during
Hungering Mist.
For more information, please refer to our The Tarragrue guide.
The Eye of the Jailer
We advise you to use the following Legendary against The Eye of the Jailer: Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence.
Spiritwalker's Grace is most likely best used when running away from
Annihilating Glare.
Note that you can use instant spells while in the air after using the chain.
Wind Rush Totem is very handy to deal with
Dragging Chains or to help
the raid move away from
Annihilating Glare
Make sure you have all your defensives available for the second half of the final phase to help your healers keep up.
For more information, please refer to our The Eye of the Jailer guide.
The Nine
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against The Nine.
Deeply Rooted Elements
Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence
The multitarget nature of this fight enables Deeply Rooted Elements and
Splintered Elements to be viable when combined with a Fire/DoT-focused
talent build, something like:
You will almost certainly be asked to kick either Signe or the add. Make sure
you do not forget to kick, especially Song of Dissolution.
Tremor Totem can be used to dispel the fear from
Reverberating Refrain.
The Formless Mass add can be Thunderstorm'd into the bosses, and is
vulnerable to
Capacitor Totem.
Defensive cooldowns are best used to help mitigate the damage from Fragments of Destiny.
Spiritwalker's Grace is also probably best used for that.
For more information, please refer to our The Nine guide.
Remnant of Ner'zhul
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Remnant of Ner'zhul: Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence.
Depending on timings, Skybreaker's Fiery Demise with
Primal Elementalist
could get good value here, keeping
Flame Shocks up on the Orbs.
I would personally recommend using
Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence however.
Spiritwalker's Grace is probably best used to keep casting during the
double knockbacks from
Malevolence. Using
Icefury is also very helpful.
It probably should not be your job, but if you have to pick up an Orb of Torment,
make sure to be in Ghost Wolf form when you do to avoid the slow from
Sorrowful Procession.
For more information, please refer to our Remnant of Ner'zhul guide.
Soulrender Dormazain
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Soulrender Dormazain: Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence.
Echoes of Great Sundering is handy to deal with Mawsworn Agonizers but
if you are not at least running
Icefury I would recommend using
Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence
or you will have trouble with movement.
Spiritwalker's Grace and
Wind Rush Totem are handy throughout
the fight and are not necessarily best used forthe
Tormented Eruptions "dance".
Mawsworn Agonizers can be Thunderstorm'd together and are vulnerable
to
Capacitor Totem.
Hold Stormkeeper for Mawsworn Agonizers
Use your defensives for Unleashed Tyranny (when chains are broken)
For more information, please refer to our Soulrender Dormazain guide.
Painsmith Raznal
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Painsmith Raznal: Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence.
Use your defensives intelligently for Flameclasp Eruption and
Shadowsteel Chains.
Depending on circumstances and on the covenant you join, you may have different
issues on this fight. If you have
Soulshape, any positioning/mobility
issues will be significantly diminished. If you have
Fleshcraft, you can press it
during a tank weapon or a
Flameclasp Eruption (especially during P2), or
at the end of intermissions in order to keep either
Astral Shift or
Vital Accretion
available in case you get targeted by chains at a dangerous moment. During
Spiked Balls
in particular, healers have to move and there is a possibility of being out of range
of multiple healers, making it quite possible to die from the
Shadowsteel Chains
damage.
Spiritwalker's Grace is probably best used reactively depending on
your circumstances, it is especially useful when targeted by
Shadowsteel Chains.
Wind Rush Totem can be used during Intermission phases to great effect.
When set properly, the raid can benefit from it for 3 sets of spikes.
For more information, please refer to our Painsmith Raznal guide.
Guardian of the First Ones
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Guardian of the First Ones: Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence.
While Wind Rush Totem is very handy, especially when stacking around
Energy Cores, and you should almost certainly use it,
Nature's Guardian
is extremely helpful for surviving some damage combos, notably
Meltdown
combined with
Threat Neutralization.
Make sure you have a defensive up for Meltdowns (easy if you have
Fleshcraft).
If you do not have
Fleshcraft, consider
not using
Astral Shift for
Purification Protocol if you have
Vital Accretion.
For more information, please refer to our Guardian of the First Ones guide.
Fatescribe Roh-Kalo
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Fatescribe Roh-Kalo.
Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence
Echoes of Great Sundering
Fatespawn Anomalies can be Thunderstorm'd together and are vulnerable
to
Capacitor Totem (so is the
Burden of Destiny add).
Try to interrupt the casts of the Fateswpawn Anomalies that are on their own
You probably want to hold onto Astral Shift for an additional damage
event when you are already targeted by
Twist Fate.
For more information, please refer to our Fatescribe Roh-Kalo guide.
Kel'Thuzad
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Kel'Thuzad.
Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence
Echoes of Great Sundering
Legendary and talent recommendation will depend on the realm you are assigned to.
If you are assigned to the Phylactery realm, you may want to focus on single-target
damage, with Icefury and
Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence. If not,
Primal Elementalist and
Echoes of Great Sundering are probably the
way to go, as well as possibly
Aftershock.
Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence especially combined with
Primordial Wave
and the occasional
Tumbling Waves proc make Elemental extremely strong
at dealing with the Soulshades (green tank adds that spawn at random places).
Interrupt them (and Soul Reavers during the Remnant Phase) whenever they cast.
There are adds almost constantly so you want to use Flame Shock very often.
Spiritwalker's Grace is best used in the Remnant Phase if you are assigned
to go inside. If not, use it when you are fixated or to move away with
Oblivion's Echo.
You also want to have it for the last phase.
Defensives should be used whenever multiple Glacial Spikes are blown up.
Wind Rush Totem is extremely useful in the Remnant Phase.
Use your AoE control abilities liberally when Frostbound Devotees are revived.
For more information, please refer to our Kel'Thuzad guide.
Sylvanas Windrunner
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Sylvanas Windrunner: Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence.
Make sure you use Spiritwalker's Grace when you are pulled by a
Domination Chains.
You also most likely want to use
Wind Rush Totem to help with those.
During Phase 2, use Wind Rush Totem to help the raid move faster and
Cleanse Spirit to remove Mawsworn Summoners' curses.
For more information, please refer to our Sylvanas Windrunner guide.
