Enhancement Shaman DPS Gems, Enchants, and Consumables — The War Within (11.1.0)

This section covers the optimal gems, enchants, food, potions, and flasks to use with your character. Please visit our dedicated Stats page to get a more detailed rundown of the different stats for Enhancement Shaman.

For all consumables excluding food in the lists below, if you are looking for a cheaper alternative look for a lower rank of the same item listed. The price difference is often significant for a small loss in stats gained.

It is highly recommended that you simulate your character for gems, as individual gear pieces have a big impact on gem options. As our stats are very similar across both Hero Talent trees and content types, we have a one-size-fits-all approach:

• You should use Culminating Blasphemite in your first socket.
• The value of the bonus Critical Strike damage is quite low, so it is better to fill out your sockets with one of each of Masterful Emerald and Quick Onyx.
• All other sockets should have whichever of these two gems suits your character best.

You can, if you so wish, also substitute the Culminating Blasphemite for an Elusive Blasphemite for a minor DPS loss if you feel you would get more out of additional passive movement speed. Some characters may also see that gemming for Culminating Blasphemite is worth it, and you should follow your sim with which gem to stack.

For weapons, one of each of the secondary stat procs is your ideal choice, as stacking them pushes us too far into diminishing returns. Depending on your character, which enchants are ideal may vary, but the general recommendation is both Enchant Weapon - Stonebound Artistry and Enchant Weapon - Stormrider's Fury for Haste and Mastery.

Enchant Weapon - Authority of the Depths is also an option in pure single-target encounters, though these are not too common this season.

Cloak, Bracer, and Boot enchants are personal preferences as they have no direct impact on performance, but we recommend Avoidance and Stamina for the extra survivability.

There are two options for your flask of choice depending on the situation:

• Flask of Alchemical Chaos — is slightly more RNG than the alternatives, but is a net positive in stats and also leads to stronger Tempered Potion uses, so it is recommended.
• Flask of Tempered Swiftness / Flask of Tempered Mastery — Slightly weaker depending on gear, but more consistent by providing a bulk of a stat we want at all times. Does lead to a weaker Tempered Potion, however.

You can also obtain a flask of your choice from Algari Flask Cauldrons provided by Alchemists.

Tempered Potion is your potion of choice and should be used alongside your major cooldowns and Bloodlust / Heroism. You can also obtain Fleeting Tempered Potion from Algari Potion Cauldron provided by Alchemists.

Algari Healing Potion is the current best healing potion. Using this has a 5-minute cooldown, but multiple can be consumed in an extended boss fight should it go on long enough. Additionally, Warlock's Healthstones do not share a cooldown with other healing consumables. Remember to use it as well if you are holding one!

As Haste and Mastery are currently exceptionally strong, you should be using secondary food so long as one of them is your current highest stat. The The Sushi Special feast or any of Outsider's Provisions, Beledar's Bounty, Jester's Board or Empress' Farewell for personal food.

Unfortunately, due to the Enhancement imbue system, we have no access to the additional weapon rune consumables. This is because Windfury Weapon and Flametongue Weapon overwrite them, so save some money and do not worry about these!

While it is technically possible to drop Windfury Weapon and use double Flametongue Weapon to activate Elemental Weapons, a large amount of our toolkit is deactivated for each hero talent, so it is not recommended in any situation.

In addition, if you can afford it, you should use Crystallized Augment Runes to increase your primary stat. Augment Runes are expensive, and disappear on death, so use them wisely!
