ENHANCEMENT SHAMAN ADDITIONAL RESOURCES
1.

Enhancement Shaman Addons and Macros

Welcome to our Addons and Macros page. Here we will be covering helpful addons you can use to elevate your gameplay through a more informative UI, alongside provide some commonly used Enhancement Shaman macros.

Midnight Disclaimer Midnight comes with a significant reduction in addon functionality, and as such many tools we've previously recommended no longer work. As new tools continue to develop, we'll add them to this page.
2.

Enhancement Shaman Macros

Macros are accessible through the /macro command in-game, and allow you to create small scripts that will be executed when you press a keybind. These are very useful for combining multiple actions into one, so a common example is combining off-GCD trinkets with cooldowns within one press.

Below are some Enhancement specific options that help to make executing some important mechanics smoother.

2.1.

Focus Cast Macros

We have several spells that can benefit from using a focus target, allowing you to still focus on your primary target with damaging attacks. Replace the Wind Shear in the macro below with any desired spell name:

Focus Interrupt
#showtooltip /stopcasting /cast [@focus,exists][@target] Wind Shear

Good spells to use this with are Cleanse Spirit Icon Cleanse Spirit, Hex Icon Hex, Purge Icon Purge and Wind Shear Icon Wind Shear.

2.2.

Mouseover Macros

Similarly, mousing over a target and casting a spell without moving from your main target can be beneficial, especially with specific talent builds. Replace the Cleanse Spirit in the macro below with the spell name:

Mouseover Dispel
#showtooltip /stopcasting /cast [target=mouseover] Cleanse Spirit

This has other uses if targets are more dynamic, removing an input needed to target someone. Cleanse Spirit Icon Cleanse Spirit benefits from this, especially when using raid/party frames.

2.3.

Self-Cast Healing Surge

This will always prioritize yourself when casting Healing Surge Icon Healing Surge for reliable self-healing:

Self-Cast Healing Surge
#showtooltip /stopcasting /cast [@player] Healing Surge
2.4.

Totem Placement Macros

For any totem with a targeting circle, two macro options are available to drop it quicker. The first drops it immediately at your feet (replace the Surging Totem in the following macros with your desired totem name). This is especially useful when playing Totemic:

At Player Totem Drop
#showtooltip /cast [@player] Surging Totem

Or at your current cursor location:

At Cursor Totem Drop
#showtooltip /cast [@cursor] Surging Totem

This can be used for Wind Rush Totem Icon Wind Rush Totem, Earthgrab Totem Icon Earthgrab Totem or even Totemic Projection Icon Totemic Projection.

2.5.

Totemic Projection on Cooldown Macro

To efficiently move our totems around with us, you can macro Totemic Projection Icon Totemic Projection into a rotational ability thanks to it being off the Global Cooldown. A common ability to tie it to is Stormstrike Icon Stormstrike, but any button can be used with the following macro:

Automatic Totemic Projection
#showtooltip /cast [@player] Totemic Projection /cast Stormstrike

This does have some downsides for utility totems, and gives you less direct control over where you place things as Totemic Projection Icon Totemic Projection will always be on cooldown. This is more of a niche option for those who simply don't want to bother dealing with dragging Surging Totem Icon Surging Totem around.

2.5.1.

Surging Totem Relocate

Alternatively, you can use the following macro when playing Totemic, which repeatedly use the relocate feature built into Surging Totem Icon Surging Totem, without needing to waste the cooldown of Totemic Projection Icon Totemic Projection:

Surging Totem Relocate
#showtooltip Lava Lash /cast Lava Lash /cast Surging Totem

You can replace Lava Lash Icon Lava Lash with Stormstrike Icon Stormstrike, or macro it to both to make sure it stays nearby.

3.

Enhancement Shaman Addons

As Midnight comes with a significant shake-up to what addons are able to do, this section will slowly be populated as more robust addons are developed over the course of the first season.

3.1.

General Addons for Shaman

Most of your UI needs can be met with some effort using the new Blizzard UI options in Midnight, but if you're looking for some extra customization, below are some popular choices.

3.1.1.

Boss Mods: Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs

Boss mods are addons that warn you about boss abilities and give you live advice on how to handle some mechanics. We strongly recommend you to get one such addon. At Icy Veins, we mostly use Deadly Boss Mods, the most popular boss mod. A good alternative is Big Wigs.

3.2.

ElvUI

ElvUI is a complete replacement of the default User Interface. It comes with almost everything you need to perform properly: action bars, unit frames, cooldown timers, proc displays, etc.
