Introduction
On this page, you will find Enhancement-Shaman-specific information to deal with each boss in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid.
This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Enhancement Shamans and what you can do to deal with each fight as best as possible.
During the Dragonflight Pre-Patch, Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination, and Sepulcher of the First Ones will be simultaneously featured as Fated Raids. During this time encounters within each specific raid will include an additional mechanic and items will drop at increased item levels. Since in Season 4 Sepulcher is the most recent raid, it was done with all of our current tools so the approach to each encounter for Enhancement remains largely the same.
Talent Cheatsheet
Enhancement has two distinct builds for raids that are fairly locked, each being very focused at different damage profiles. Your choice is dictated usually by how many targets are present in a fight.
Enhancement has one primary build for raids that is fairly versatile. At times, a couple of points might be shuffled around in order to perform better in heavy AoE situations.
Default Talent Build
Night Fae and Skybreaker's Fiery Demise are the main components
of this setup.
This build focuses on doing as much single-target as possible, and utilizes
the Skybreaker's Fiery Demise legendary in order to generate additional
passive damage. Although it is focused on doing single target damage, it is also
able to excel in light cleave situations by capitalizing on
Hailstorm-empowered
Frost Shocks and applying
Lashing Flames to multiple enemies. It also brings a strong suite of
personal defensives and mobility and will make for a strong baseline raiding
setup.

Vigilant Guardian
Compared to the default talent loadout, we recommend removing the points in
Storm's Wrath and
Elemental Blast in exchange for points in
Crash Lightning and
Elemental Assault.
No changes to the default covenant or legendary loadouts are recommended.
Vigilant Guardian has a lot of add spawns, but these are usually better dealt
with by other players (especially on Mythic) while we focus on priority targets.
Most of our AoE delivery methods do not work because adds die before we can
capitalizeon it, so focusing on a Witch Doctor's Wolf Bones single-target
build works best.
Fae Transfusion should be used on cooldown, but ideally have it ready for the final 15% burn.
- Use
Spirit Walk and
Ghost Wolf to move out if targeted by
Deresolution beams.
- Try to make sure to place
Sundering to hit add waves when they come in to hit multiple targets, rather than as a filler.
- Have
Astral Shift and
Earth Elemental (with the
Vital Accretion Conduit) ready for the tail end of
Core Overload when raid damage gets intense at the end of the fight.

Skolex, the Insatiable Ravener
No changes to the default talent, covenant, or legendary loadouts are recommended.
This is a pure single-target fight with a lot of back and forth movement, but is otherwise very simple to deal with.
- Use
Ghost Wolf if you are caught in a bad place during
Retch casts.
- Use
Astral Shift when your raid group stacks up to trigger
Ravening Burrow.
- Use
Spirit Walk to get back to the boss quickly after
Ravening Burrow.
- For situations where you need to stack on the raid but cannot use a Warlock
gateway, save
Soulshape to get into the stack quickly.
- Be active with movement to avoid
Devouring Blood pools — reduced Haste is bad.
- As a melee make sure to avoid the Tanks, as the
Wormhole Jaws damage split is lethal if it picks you.

Artificer Xy'Mox
Compared to the default talent loadout, we recommend removing the points in
Storm's Wrath and
Elemental Blast in exchange for points in
Crash Lightning and
Elemental Assault.
No changes to the default covenant or legendary loadouts are recommended.
There are add phases here, but are usually very short-lived so it is better
to focus on dealing as much boss damage as possible to push through each phase
faster. The benefit of having Soulshape in case of emergency is also
great.
- Make sure you have
Sundering ready to AoE and interrupt the add spawns in each intermission after being stacked up.
- Use
Astral Shift at higher stacks of
Genesis Supernova, or during the tank explosion from
Glyph of Relocation.
- If you are caught out by
Genesis Rings and cannot make it to the Dimensional Tears,
Soulshape can be used in an emergency to leap the ring.
- Remember the boss goes immune at 75% and 50% for the intermission, so avoid
committing big cooldowns like
Fae Transfusion if this is about to happen.
Dausegne, the Fallen Oracle
Compared to the default talent loadout, we recommend removing the points in
Storm's Wrath and
Elemental Blast in exchange for points in
Crash Lightning and
Elemental Assault.
No changes to the default covenant or legendary loadouts are recommended.
Adds are important to burn down here, but this is predominantly a
single-target encounter. Therefore a Witch Doctor's Wolf Bones especially
because it grants
Soulshape works out best here.
- Use
Spirit Walk and
Ghost Wolf to adjust around each
Disintegration Halo spawn to not take lethal damage.
- Aim to have burst with
Feral Spirit and if possible also
Fae Transfusion to burn through the
Siphoned Barrier absorb shield.
- Similarly,
Feral Spirit being up to burn through the Domination Core spawns is very useful to kill them before too many
Encroaching Dominion pools spawn.
- When the boss is beginning to create the
Disintegration Halos, you can see which order they will spawn in by carefully watching the Dominated Reservoirs (the pillars) in the four points of the room. Pre-position and plan out your route to avoid dying to multiple stacks of the debuff.
Soulshape is invaluable here as it can allow you to skip multiple Halos at once, and repeat casts while it is up can also let you skip the triple rings at the end of the fight.

Prototype Pantheon
Compared to the default talent loadout, we recommend removing the points in
Storm's Wrath and
Elemental Blast in exchange for points in
Crash Lightning and
Crashing Storms.
No changes to the default legendary loadout are recommended for Prototype Pantheon.
The fight is split between periods of 2 and 4 target cleave for extended
periods of time, letting us leverage our funnel/DoT profile with
Ashen Catalyst paired with Necrolord.
- Make sure to maintain
Lashing Flames on all targets, and spend your
Primordial Wave with
Flame Shock on as many targets as possible.
- Make sure to focus target either Prototype of War or Prototype of
Renewal
and interrupt
Gloom Bolt /
Anima Bolt respectively with
Wind Shear as often as possible.
- Use
Spirit Walk and
Ghost Wolf to make sure you can get into the
Bastion's Ward circles if you are targeted by
Runecarver's Deathtouch.
- In Mythic, this also applies to
Night Hunters.
- Save
Astral Shift for
Hand of Destruction during the second phase, especially if you are hit by
Sinful Projection.
- Be aware that on Heroic and Mythic difficulties, the four bosses do not share health and must be defeated at roughly the same time.

Lihuvim, Principal Architect
Compared to the default talent loadout, we recommend removing the points in
Storm's Wrath and
Elemental Blast in exchange for points in
Crash Lightning and
Elemental Assault.
No changes to the default covenant or legendary loadouts are recommended.
The majority of the important damage here is pure single-target on the boss with burn periods on single adds, so boss damage build suits best here.
Soulshape should be used to counteract the
Cosmic Shift knockback if you are targeted by the push. This should be up ready for every time this happens.
- Aim to have
Sundering ready for Degeneration Automa spawns after the intermission to lock them down.
- Save
Spirit Walk in case you get a Mote applied by a dying Degeneration Automa so you can drop it out of melee.
- Use
Astral Shift during the intermission if the raid is unstable from the ticking
Protoform Radiance damage.
- Watch out for the Tank positioning as the
Resonance circles from the combo are lethal.
Wind Rush Totem can be taken to help the group get back to the boss after each intermission phase.

Halondrus the Reclaimer
No changes to the default talent, covenant, or legendary loadouts are recommended.
Halondrus is a pure single-target fight with some situations that can force you off, with very high raid damage.
- In some situations the timing of
Fae Transfusion can overlap with forced movement phases. If your raid DPS causes this to happen, Niya is a better Soulbind option due to the low
Field of Blossoms uptime.
Feral Spirit should be used on cooldown, but if you are getting
Reclaim shields try to make sure you have it ready for these.
- Taking
Feral Lunge is an option here to stick to the boss during the intermissions when
Shatter happens, alternatively
Soulshape also works to avoid getting knocked off.
Wind Rush Totem has some (but limited) use in the intermission to help people run ahead of the boss.
Earth Elemental (with
Vital Accretion) should be saved for the final phase when
Eternity Overdrive is constantly ticking on the raid.
- Save
Spirit Walk for emergencies if you are getting pinched by
Planetcracker Beams and need to catch a mote, or avoid
Seismic Tremors.

Anduin Wrynn
Compared to the default talent loadout, we recommend removing the points in
Storm's Wrath and
Elemental Blast in exchange for points in
Crash Lightning and
Elemental Assault.
No changes to the default covenant or legendary loadouts are recommended.
Anduin has a lot of moving parts, but the majority of important damage we
deliver is dealt to adds or during the intermission, therefore Korayn is
recommended with a single-target oriented build to make use of
First Strike.
- You can help with the healing during
Befouled Barrier with
Healing Surge, Healthstones, Health Potions and reactivating
Fae Transfusion if needed.
Astral Shift is best saved for situations where
Befouled Barrier or
Hopebreaker overlaps with you having the
Domination Word: Pain debuff.
- Try to take your time during
Blasphemy instead of using movement tools to avoid running into players of the opposite colour.
- Intermission 1 begins at roughly 3:10, and intermission 2 at around 8
minutes. This means taking
Essential Extraction is a pretty bad idea, and you should instead be holding the cooldown for max value during the damage amp.
Earthbind Totem,
Frost Shock and
Capacitor Totem can be helpful to keep Anduin's Doubt from reaching the centre if sent downstairs during
Kingsmourne Hungers casts.
Wind Shear should be used aggressively on Grim Reflection's
Psychic Terror casts. While
Tremor Totem does break the fear, the damage will still occur and likely cause a wipe so is not useful.

Lords of Dread
Compared to the default talent loadout, we recommend removing the points in
Storm's Wrath and
Elemental Blast in exchange for points in
Crash Lightning and
Elemental Assault.
No changes to the default covenant or legendary loadouts are recommended.
Lords of Dread has a near constant 2 target uptime with some high burst
windows roughly every 2 minutes, so you should avoid
Essential Extraction due to the cooldown holding.
- Switch to
Chilled to the Core instead to maintain Maelstrom via
Hailstorm, and save
Fae Transfusion, only casting it during each
Unto Darkness. This occurs at 1 minute, and every 2 minutes roughly thereafter.
- You get one cast of
Feral Spirit on the pull and after each intermission phase, and then rely on
Seeds of Rampant Growth to reset it for the Swarm.
Astral Shift should always be saved for each
Unto Darkness phase, as the raid takes huge damage during this channel. The same goes for
Earth Elemental with
Vital Accretion.
- Make sure to maintain
Lashing Flames on both targets, and the
Crash Lightning buff as much as possible.
- Save
Spirit Walk for
Fearful Trepidation in case you need to move far out to the ranged to clear pools.
- On Mythic, if you stand directly under Mal'Ganis
you can avoid the pools spawned by
Aura of Carrion, but make sure you are underneath otherwise you will get hit.

Rygelon
Compared to the default talent loadout, we recommend removing the points in
Storm's Wrath and
Elemental Blast in exchange for points in
Crash Lightning and
Elemental Assault.
No changes to the default covenant or legendary loadouts are recommended.
Mostly single-target oriented fight with some add spawns that have extremely
low health, so is best to play for boss damage with Korayn to make use
of First Strike.
- Collapsing Quasars have huge hitboxes, making it very easy to
activate
First Strike via
Chain Lightning.
- Due to the rigid intermission timings, avoid
Essential Extraction so
Fae Transfusion is ready at the start of each phase (another reason why
First Strike is prefered).
Spirit Walk is best saved to get into your assigned
Collapsing Quasar Field if targeted by
Dark Eclipse. Otherwise, it is useful in the intermission to keep up with the boss after soaking Unstable Cores.
Astral Shift should be used in every intermission during the Unstable Core soaks, while
Earth Elemental overlaps whichever intermission your raid is struggling to survive and should be used there.
Feral Lunge is extremely useful here specifically to jump back to the boss during
Massive Bang and get into a circle comfortably.
- In Mythic,
Soulshape can be saved to deal with the
Dark Quasar circles to get out of the group quickly.

The Jailer
Compared to the default talent loadout, we recommend removing the points in
Storm's Wrath and
Elemental Blast in exchange for points in
Crash Lightning and
Elemental Assault.
No changes to the default covenant or legendary loadouts are recommended.
There is a lot going on in this encounter but most of it is mechanical
— the thing that matters is how much boss damage you can do over a long
period of time. We are not efficient at dealing with the few adds that spawn,
and they are infrequent enough that it is not worth the sacrifice.
Witch Doctor's Wolf Bones and a pure single-target build is
recommended.
- Due to the sheer amount of mechanics that force movement and get in the way
of uptime, it is recommended to switch to Niya here, as
Field of Blossoms uptime is extremely low.
Wind Rush Totem is invaluable throughout the fight to re-adjust when the boss moves, but
Feral Lunge can also be taken as a selfish option to deal with
Rune of Damnation knock-ups.
Sundering in Phase 2 should be saved for the
Rune of Compulsion spawns to lock them down briefly.
- Similarly, if you are targeted by
Rune of Compulsion you should cast
Tremor Totem to break yourself out instantly (this does not work on allies).
Astral Shift has a lot of situations to be used throughout the fight and should be used liberally, especially when soaking
Martyrdom in Phase 1, and when
Chains of Anguish are being snapped in Phase 3.
- Both
Spirit Walk and
Ghost Wolf are used to deal with most mechanics due to how much movement everything involves, rather than at fixed spots.
