Enhancement Shaman PvP Useful Macros — Midnight Season 1

Last updated on Mar 16, 2026 at 18:35 by Tiqqle 15 comments

Macros are crucial to be successful in PvP. They allow players to use abilities on enemies without having to target them. This helps increase overall damage/healing and general awareness in the arena. Here are a few macros that all Enhancement Shamans can benefit from.

This page is part of our Enhancement Shaman PvP Guide.

1.

Arena Targeting

Arena Target 1 Macro
/target arena1

This macro allows you to target each of the enemy team players without clicking with your mouse. This is a more efficient method of changing targets. You should replace "arena1" with "arena2" and "arena3" for subsequent macros.

2.

Arena Target Interrupts

Interupt Arena Target Macro
#showtooltip Wind Shear /cast [target=arena1] Wind Shear

This macro will use your Wind Shear Icon Wind Shear interrupt on the specific enemy team player without changing targets. Again, replace "arena1" with the desired enemy.

3.

Targeting Teammates and Self

Target Party 1 Macro
/target party1

As the following macro works like the enemy targeting macros above. To target your teammates insert "party1" or "party2"; to target yourself, replace with "player".

4.

Earth Shield Friend Macro

Earthshield Party Macro
#showtooltip Earth Shield
  • /cast [target=PLAYERNAME] Earth Shield
  • If you select the Earth Shield Icon Earth Shield talent, you want a way to easily apply this ability to your teammates without having to switch targets or click their nameplates. The below options for this macro should allow you to maintain a high uptime on Earth Shield and maximize one of the best Shaman utilities for their team.

    Earthshield Party1 Macro
    #showtooltip Earth Shield
  • /cast [target=party1] Earth Shield
  • Alternatively, you can make the macro target the generic party members, as used in earlier friendly team targeting macros.

    5.

    Healing Teammates

This is for healing teammates without having to switch targets. We use macros for targets specifically by their name to make sure we heal the correct target without a doubt. This approach is more precise but takes time to maintain the macro if you play with various players.

    Healing Surge Party Macro
    #showtooltip Healing Surge /cast [target=PLAYERNAME] Healing Surge

Alternatively, you can make the macro target the generic party members, as used in earlier friendly team targeting macros.

    6.

    Hex 123 Macro

    Arena Target123 Hex Macro
    #showtooltip Hex /cast [target=arena1] Hex

Using this macro will cast Hex Icon Hex on arena enemy 1. This makes it easier to crowd-control an enemy while staying focused on your target. If you want macros for the second and third enemies, simply change the arena1 to arena2 or arena3.

    7.

    Hex Focus Macro

    Focus Hex Macro
    #showtooltip Hex /cast [target=focus] Hex

If you find that you do not have much room on your action bars, you can use a focus macro. This is much simpler to use than the arena123 macro. Put an enemy on focus, and this macro will cast Polymorph Icon Polymorph on that player while you are still focused on your target.

    8.

    Cleanse Spirit Macro

    Cleanse Spirit Party Macro
#showtooltip Cleanse Spirit /cast [@PlayerNameHere, exists] Cleanse Spirit

This macro will use Cleanse Spirit Icon Cleanse Spirit on whichever teammate you put into the macro. It is recommended that you make a macro for both of your teammates.

    9.

    Purge Focus Macro

    Focus Purge Macro
    #showtooltip Purge /cast [target=focus] Purge

This macro uses Purge Icon Purge on any enemy you have as your focus target. This is useful for Purging important buffs on one enemy while still targeting the other. If you take Greater Purge Icon Greater Purge, replace 'Purge' with 'Greater Purge'

    10.

    Cursor Macros

These macros are great for quickly placing totems, instead of clicking it to activate the placement icon and then clicking to place it. The totem will be placed wherever your cursor is.

    11.

    Earthgrab Totem Macro

    Earthgrab Totem Macro
    #showtooltip Earthgrab Totem /cast [@cursor] Earthgrab Totem
    12.

    Static Field Totem Macro

    Static Field Totem Macro
#showtooltip Static Field Totem /cast [@cursor] Static Field Totem
    13.

    Capacitor Cursor Macro

    Capacitor Totem Macro
    #showtooltip Capacitor Totem /cast [@cursor] Capacitor Totem
    14.

    Earthbind Cursor Macro

    Earthbind Macro
    #showtooltip Earthbind Totem /cast [@cursor] Earthbind Totem
    15.
