Fire Mage DPS The Eternal Palace Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.5
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Fire Mage for each boss of the following raid: The Eternal Palace. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.
Introduction
In this section, you will find information and guidance for each boss individually in the Eternal Palace raid as a Fire Mage. These are not complete encounter guides, but rather provide specific tips for the bosses as a Fire Mage.
Fire Mage in The Eternal Palace
Fire Mage is looking to be a great pick in The Eternal Palace,
due to some indirect buffs with the addition of Essences. It is
now capable of delivering good single-target DPS, even on fights not primarily
focused around execute DPS, while having "free" AoE or Cleave DPS due to
Mastery: Ignite.
As a general rule, most of the raid is single-target or spread cleave. Fire can deal well with the single-target fights, but less so with the spread cleave fights.

Tips
This is a straightforward pure single-target encounter.
When you have Frost Mark, make sure make sure to stutter step between
your instant-cast
Pyroblasts and
Meteors. This way, you will
have to move less when you do not have any instant cast spells available.
Check the boss mod timers to avoid using Rune of Power right before
Inversion, as you might have to move to the other side of the room when
this happens.

Tips
Make sure you are standing on the floor when using Rune of Power, because
using it while swimming above the floor can cause it to sometimes spawn above or
below you, which means you will not get the buff.

Tips
A split single-target fight with some priority add focus during the intermissions.
During the intermission, focus down the Stormwraith and let
Mastery: Ignite do the work for you on the Stormlings.
Use
Shimmer to negate the knockback of
Gale Buffet.

Tips
If you are in a bad position to deal with Briny Bubble properly, you can
move out of the group and use
Ice Block. This will avoid the bubble from
spawning altogether.
The fight generally has odd Bloodlust/
Heroism/
Time Warp
timers for Fire's cooldowns (usually around 1 minute, or 3 minutes into the fight)
Try to plan your cooldowns with your raid's strategy in mind so they line up with
Bloodlust/Heroism/Time Warp usage.

Tips
This is a fairly straightforward fight for Fire Mages. Simply
swap to the Zoatroid adds by single-targeting one of them down and letting
Mastery: Ignite spread.
Make sure to watch your boss mod timer for Dribbling Ichor, and avoid
placing a
Rune of Power when it is about to begin, as it will be hard to
remain inside your Rune while the Dribbling Ichor is happening.

Tips
If you get Frenetic Charge on you, but you / the raid is too low health
to soak it together, or there are other reasons making it hard to soak this together,
you can use
Ice Block to soak it alone.
When you get Repeat Performance, make sure you do not end up casting
the same spell twice in a row. This is only really relevant for
Fireball.
Most of the time, you should be able to avoid this by casting
Fire Blast
while casting your second
Fireball. But if this is not possible, you should
try to weave in other spells.
Shimmer and
Counterspell are great
because they can be used without losing any DPS, but still count as a spell to avoid
the silence.

Talents
It can be a small DPS gain to run Living Bomb on this fight, if your
group is very efficient at getting the Horrific Visions stacked on the boss.
Otherwise the standard single target talents apply.
Tips
For a Fire Mage, this fight is generally just a single target fight, with occasional swapping of targets. You should swap to Horrific Summoners, but the Horrific Visions should just be cleaved down.
Fire Mages are great at going down into the Delirium Realm, especially
when the boss is below 30% health (or close to). This is particularly true when running multiple
Blaster Master traits, because the additional haste makes it possible to
have extremely high uptime on the Blaster Master buff. However, it can be very
challenging to play the Delirium Realm, because
Scorch is nearly instant,
it can make it so you are getting
Hot Streak procs at very odd timings.
The best way to avoid accidentally hardcasting
Pyroblasts is to always keep
moving while the boss is below 30% health. If you are assigned to go down into
the Delirium Realm, make sure you have your DPS cooldowns ready when going in.
When down there, you should make sure to use
Blazing Barrier on cooldown,
because you will slowly die while in the realm, and the longer you can stay
in there the more DPS you will do. If you are running defensive traits like
Cauterizing Blink, you should also try to keep a high uptime on this buff
by using
Shimmer often. Keep in mind,
Cauterize will not proc
while in this realm, so you should not rely on Cauterize to heal you up. Additionally,
do not forget to use
Abyssal Healing Potion and
Healthstone in this realm.

Talents and Essences for Queen Azshara for a Fire Mage
Overall, the standard single-target talents and Essences apply to this boss.
However, if your group is struggling to kill the Azshara's Devoted, you can
opt into a more AoE focused build, swapping to Living Bomb, and potentially
even swapping to
Essence of the Focusing Iris, although the latter is not
advised, since it is a sizeable DPS loss on the boss, so only consider this if your group truly
cannot kill the adds without it.
Tips
Azshara is a fight with a lot of things happening at the same time. A Fire Mage's main job will be single-target DPS, while cleaving down lower priority targets.
Optimizing your DPS on Azshara largely comes down to minimizing your movement,
which can be hard due to all the mechanics going on. You need to keep a close
eye on boss mod timers for mechanics like Arcane Detonation to ensure you
do not use cooldowns, such as
Rune of Power, right before it goes out.
When the Overzealous Hulk spawns, make sure to not use any crowd control
abilities (like Dragon's Breath, or even
Flamestrike, since slows also
count) to make sure a stronger crowd control ability can be used on it.
If you get the Essence of Azeroth buff, you should simply spam
Pyroblasts as filler, instead of
Fireball or
Scorch.
Make sure to use any remaining cooldowns like
Rune of Power
before the 40 seconds are over, as you will die when it ends. Try to weave in any
Fire Blasts when you see a
Heating Up proc. If you are running
Blaster Master traits, try to keep a good uptime on this as well, as
the Fire Blasts are not as important for generating
Hot Streak procs when
you have the Essence of Azeroth buff.
