General Information

On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Frost Death Knight for each boss of the following raid: Liberation of Undermine. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — The War Within (11.1.0).

1.

Introduction

Below, you can find class and spec-specific advice for every fight in Liberation of Undermine. If you are looking for a general overview of the Raid that is not spec-specific, check out our dedicated Liberation of Undermine Boss guides.

On this page, you will find tips and tricks specifically tailored toward Frost Death Knights and its toolkit based on the recommended talent build. It does not include general tips for mechanics, which are included in the full raid guide instead, whereas this page assumes that you are already familiar with most of the major mechanics of each encounter.

All recommendations are progression-based tips and will not necessarily be the best for an overall DPS ranking.

General Offensive Cooldown Usage

Frost Death Knight has a few cooldowns to think about using optimally on the fights in Liberation of Undermine:

  • Pillar of Frost Icon Pillar of Frost - Our 45 seconds cooldown window.
  • Frostwyrm's Fury Icon Frostwyrm's Fury - Either 1.5min or 3min cooldown used for big AoE burst with Deathbringer or with Pillar of Frost Icon Pillar of Frost when playing Rider of the Apocalypse.
  • Breath of Sindragosa Icon Breath of Sindragosa - When picked, huge cleave Cooldown generally used every 2min15sec.
  • Empower Rune Weapon Icon Empower Rune Weapon - 2 minute cooldown that is timed with Pillar of Frost Icon Pillar of Frost at the 2min15sec mark.

Make sure to use your cooldowns as much as possible unless certain adds or DPS phases allow you to get more value out of them. This is typically something you will want to discuss with your Raidleader or the rest of the raid in static groups, while PUGs are more freeform than that.

2.42.

General Defensive Cooldown Usage

Anti-Magic Shell Icon Anti-Magic Shell, Icebound Fortitude Icon Icebound Fortitude and Lichborne Icon Lichborne are your main personal defensive spells. Use these when you are targeted by mechanics, or when the raid is taking damage to help mitigate it. Anti-Magic Zone Icon Anti-Magic Zone is our raid defensive cooldown that you should coordinate with your group for when to use it. Finally, Death Grip Icon Death Grip can be used as a defensive since the boss takes less damage when you grip it through Subduing Grasp Icon Subduing Grasp.
