The page will be filled out based on live server experience with the bosses, after the raid releases on the 21st January.
Essences
Major Essence
Worldvein Resonance — Since this essence is on a 1-minute cooldown, it lines up very nicely with your Breath of Sindragosa. This seems to be a very popular major essence choice in Ny'alotha, so the minor power you gain will also be very strong.
Blood of the Enemy — This essence does very well with both Breath of Sindragosa and Icecap when you have Rank 3 available for the Critical Damage bonus. The Minor you gain is also incredibly powerful.
Minor Essences
Memory of Lucid Dreams — This is always a powerful choice for Frost Death Knights when using Breath of Sindragosa seeing as the minor grants you a large amount of Runes. This will lead to a longer Breath of Sindragosa uptime and less downtime outside of Breath of Sindragosa.
Essence of the Focusing Iris — Is used in the Icecap build over Conflict and Strife because of the bonus Haste it gains from Expedient.
Breath of the Dying — This is a new essence in Patch 8.3. The minor procs Fire damage on the target that also act as an execute effect.
Conflict and Strife — This simply gives you a significant amount of Versatility making it not only a DPS increase but a survivability increase because of how Versatility affects your character.
Talent Cheatsheet
Wrathion, the Black Emperor
Tips
Make sure to stand to the side of Wrathion to avoid Tail Swipe and Searing Breath. Remorseless Winter, combined with Frozen Tempest, can give you free Rime procs on the Crackling Shards in Phase 2. Incineration also deals magic damage meaning you can use Anti-Magic Shell to absorb some of the damage. The Ashwalker Assassins are grippable with Death Grip. If you are using Frostwyrm's Fury then save it for the intermission phase and line yourself up with as many pillars as possible before casting it.
For more information, please refer to our Wrathion, the Black Emperor guide.
Maut
Tips
Depending on your group's strategy, you may want to save your major cooldown combination ( Breath of Sindragosa, Empower Rune Weapon, and Pillar of Frost) for the Obsidian Shatter. Coordinate this with your group because you may save Bloodlust/Heroism for this push. You can choose to run AoE talents, such as Avalanche and Frostscythe, to help kill the pillars in Phase 2, if they are a major issue.
If you are targeted with Devour Magic you can use Anti-Magic Shell before it goes off to prevent the silence and absorb some of the damage, this will allow you to continue casting and can at times save your Breath of Sindragosa from falling off.
For more information, please refer to our Maut guide.
The Prophet Skitra
Tips
Anti-Magic Shell can help prevent some of the damage from the Psychic Shredder add. You can use Howling Blast on multiple adds during the Illusory phase to generate Runic Power while your group is finding out where Skitra is.
For more information, please refer to our The Prophet Skitra guide.
Dark Inquisitor Xanesh
Tips
Using Conflict and Strife Major for Chill Streak on this boss is incredible effective to cleave down the adds on Mythic with the boss. This requires your tank to stack Xanesh on the adds however.
Use Death's Advance or Wraith Walk to quickly move out of Torment zones if you are struggling to move out quickly enough. Try to save Death's Advance and Wraith Walk for the Void Orb mechanic, as these movement speed abilities can save you in a pinch.
For more information, please refer to our Dark Inquisitor Xanesh guide.
The Hivemind
Tips
Gathering Storm with Frozen Tempest is an extremely powerful combination on this fight with how much cleave there is available. If you choose to run Frostwyrm's Fury on this boss, save it for the adds to be as stacked as possible to ensure you hit as many as possible.
For more information, please refer to our The Hivemind guide.
Shad'har the Insatiable
Tips
You can use Anti-Magic Shell when afflicted with Debilitating Spit in order to gain Runic Power and help prevent some of the damage.
For more information, please refer to our Shad'har the Insatiable guide.
Drest'agath
Tips
Depending on your guild's timing for Heroism/Bloodlust, make sure that you have your cooldowns and a potion available.
For more information, please refer to our Drest'agath guide.
Vexiona
Tips
Make sure to use your Mind Freeze on the Cultists to interrupt their casts. Save your AoE burst for the Cultists as well ( Remorseless Winter or Frostwyrm's Fury).
For more information, please refer to our Vexiona guide.
Ra-den the Despoiled
Tips
Use Anti-Magic Shell when afflicted with Charged Bonds if you are low on health.
For more information, please refer to our Ra-den the Despoiled guide.
Il'gynoth, Corruption Reborn
Tips
You may want to save your major DPS cooldowns for Phase 2 to burst down the Organ of Corruption. Organize this with your groups before the fight.
For more information, please refer to our Il'gynoth, Corruption Reborn guide.
Carapace of N'Zoth
Tips
Make sure to interrupt any players who have becomes Servants of N'Zoth. If you choose to run Frostwyrm's Fury on this fight, make sure it is available for the adds when they spawn. Do not use Anti-Magic Shell before the Madness Bombs go on people, as this will cause the bomb to immediately go off.
For more information, please refer to our Carapace of N'Zoth guide.
N'Zoth the Corruptor
Tips
Make sure to interrupt any players who have becomes Servants of N'Zoth. If you are low on Sanity, use your extra action button to channel your Heart of Azeroth to restore Sanity. Icecap is very viable on this fight, however if you are having difficulty with killing the Psychus then try using Breath of Sindragosa for more Burst and Cleave damage.
For more information, please refer to our N'Zoth the Corruptor guide.
