Unlocking the Herb Garden
In this section, we are going to tell you how to unlock the Herb Garden, Level 1, 2, and 3.
Unlocking the Herb Garden, Level 1
The Herb Garden appears when you upgrade your Town Hall to Level 2. It is locked at first and you must complete a Level 96 quest to unlock it. The quest is given to you at the Herb Garden: Clearing the Garden (Alliance) or Clearing the Garden (Horde). It requires you to clear the vermin from the garden.
Unlocking the Herb Garden, Level 2
To upgrade the Herb Garden to Level 2, buy the Garrison Blueprint: Herb Garden, Level 2 from Sparz Boltwist (Alliance) or Rezlak (Horde). Both NPCs are located next to the Architect Table in your Garrison's Town Hall. The blueprint costs 1,000 .
Unlocking the Herb Garden, Level 3
To upgrade the Herb Garden to Level 3, you need to loot 500 Draenic Seeds from your Herb Garden in order to earn the Draenic Seed Collector achievement. Herbalists can also loot these seeds when gathering herbs in Draenor.
Earning the achievement grants you the right to buy the blueprint for the upgrade, Garrison Blueprint: Herb Garden, Level 3, from Sparz Boltwist (Alliance) or Rezlak (Horde) for 1,000 .
Gathering Herbs
At Level 1, between 6 and 7 random nodes appear every day at the Herb Garden (at the time when the daily quests reset). Each of them gives you 2 to 4 of a certain herb, depending on the name of the node: Fireweed, Frostweed, Gorgrond Flytrap, Nagrand Arrowbloom, Starflower, Talador Orchid. You also get between 1 and 3 Draenic Seeds per node.
A vermin sometimes spawns when you attempt to open a node in your Herb Garden. Killing it gives you about 15 of the herb you were trying to gather.
At Level 2, you get between 10 random nodes every day.
At Level 3, you get 15 random nodes every day.
Choosing Your Herbs
Assigning a follower with the Herbalism trait to your Herb Garden allows you to choose the herb that will be grown at your Garrison. Simply talk to Naron Bloomthistle (Alliance) or Tarnon to set the herb to be grown or to go back to planting random herbs.
Work Orders
Starting a Work Order costs 5x Draenic Seeds, takes 4 hours to complete, and rewards you with 5 of a random herbs. You will sometimes get a few Apexis Crystals as well.
At Level 1, you can only queue 7 Work Orders. At Level 2, this number increases to 14 and at Level 3 to 21. Having a Storehouse Level 3 further increases the number of Work Orders you can place by 15.
Assigning a follower with the Herbalism trait to your Herb Garden increases the yield of the Work Orders. A Level 90 follower gives you 6 herbs per Work Order, while a Level 100 follower gives you 8.
Level 3 Food Buffs
Your Herb Garden Level 3 features a special tree. Every day, you will find a different type of fruits around it. These fruits give you a stat buff when you consume them. They respawn quite quickly when you loot them, but you cannot have more than 10 of the same fruit in your inventory.
Fruit | Buff |
---|---|
Fuzzy Pear | +75 Mastery for 1 hour |
Giant Nagrand Cherry | +75 Critical Strike for 1 hour |
Greenskin Apple | +75 Multistrike for 1 hour |
Ironpeel Plantain | +75 Versatility for 1 hour |
O'ruk Orange | +75 Haste for 1 hour |
There is a small chance to loot a Perfect version of one of these fruits. The buff given by these Perfect fruits is the same, just that it lasts for 2 hours and persists through death.

Naron Bloomthistle (Alliance) and Tarnon (Horde) sell vanity items for Draenic Seeds.
