Pre-Season BiS List Guardian Druid

This list contains the Best in Slot Gear for the Pre-Season of the Midnight Expansion.

Note that there is no such thing as a singular, all-encompassing "BiS". The best items vary per character and situation, and there are many items that are essentially equivalent in terms of DPS, namely when we are just shuffling secondary stats around. I will list one "BiS" item per slot, sometimes two if I feel there is a significant difference between Raiding and Mythic+, but ultimately, BiS lists are not very practically useful, and you should be simming your character to find out what gear to equip next. Nonetheless, there is a huge demand for this list, and thus, despite my not thinking you should really care much about it, it is here for your perusal.

Slot Item Source/Note

TipsHow to Know What Pieces are Best When Comparing?
Generally speaking, the highest item level always wins, as our stats are all quite close in relative strength. The exception with this is trinkets or items with special effects, as some effects are far more powerful than the item level would suggest.

"Simming" Yourself as a Guardian Druid

Throughout this page, we regularly refer to the importance of simming yourself on Raidbots, as it is an indispensable aspect of optimizing your character.

While we do offer generic sim charts for Trinkets, this should not be a replacement for simming yourself, at least not if you want to minmax sub-1%!

If you are new to simming and Raidbots, check out our detailed guide below.

Best Gear Crest Upgrades for Guardian Druid

You will be able to upgrade your items via Crests. Once you have upgraded a slot to a certain item level, upgrading other items of that slot to that item level is free. To find out more about the Midnight Gear Upgrading System there is a dedicated page linked below.

When you upgrade with Crests, you should think of it as upgrading slots and not items.

Below is the slot priority you should upgrade your items in. If you ever want to deviate from this, you should have a very good reason.

  1. Chest
  2. Legs
  3. Rings and Neck
  4. Trinkets
  5. Head/Shoulder/Belt/Bracer/Boots/Cape

Recommended Crafted Gear and Embellishments

You may only have two embellishments, present on equipped crafted gear at a time.

5.1.

Ideal Gear to Craft

Guardian generally prefers to craft low stat budget, flexible items that can easily be swapped to another embellishment at will. To find out more about professions and crafting in general, below is a link to the dedicated professions overview page.

  • The Aln'hara Pikestaff Icon Aln'hara Pikestaff with the Darkmoon Sigil: Void Icon Darkmoon Sigil: Void embellishment is a great initial craft unless you have easy access to the first few bosses on mythic and can naturally loot one without hindering your groups progression.
  • Silvermoon Agent's Deflectors Icon Silvermoon Agent's Deflectors and Silvermoon Agent's Sneakers Icon Silvermoon Agent's Sneakers have the least conflicting gear issues. Applying a simple proc embellishment like Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining to these makes them quite competitive.
5.2.

Catalyst

The Matrix Catalyst is a feature that allows you to convert any piece into "Tier" while retaining item level, socket, and tertiary perks. This can help you to optimize your gear further, similar to the old reforging system.

6.

Enchants and Gems

Whenever you get a new piece of gear, enchant it or gem it, if possible. The optimal enchants and gems for Guardian Druids are on the page linked below.

7.

Trinkets for Guardian Druid

The following is a list of the most noteworthy trinkets available overall, ranked in order of power assuming equivalent item level. If you do not have any of these, your best bet will be to use a stat proc trinket with a reasonably high item level. This list only has our most powerful trinkets, any trinket not listed here is considerably weaker.

  1. Heart of Wind Icon Heart of Wind
  2. Vessel of Tortured Souls Icon Vessel of Tortured Souls
  3. Jelly Replicator
  4. Emberwing Feather Icon Emberwing Feather
  5. Rotting Globule Icon Rotting Globule

Offensively, you can refer to the chart below (courtesy of Bloodmallet.com). Note that these are only recommendations based on general sims; you should sim yourself for the most accurate results.
