Welcome to our World of Warcraft encounter guide for Harjatan in Tomb of Sargeras. We will teach you everything you need to know to defeat the boss in every difficulty.

On this particular page, we will give you a short overview of the fight as well as a list of things to watch out for (include LFR tips when applicable).

Harjatan is the third boss in the Tomb of Sargeras Raid Instance.

Harjatan was trained from birth to demolish his enemies. Through a conquest of savage brutality, he gathered throngs of cave dwelling murlocs who see him as a god. Now, the naga brute merely has to bark a command and hordes of devout followers set themselves to task.

Harjatan is a single phase encounter with very simple but often punishing mechanics for the raid to deal with. He will occasionally summon several types of murlocs as extra reinforcements, each possessing their own abilities to be wary of. While it is a simple "tank and spank" style encounter, Harjatan is a hard hitting bruiser with the potential to quickly wipe out unprepared teams.

Here is a preview of the LFR difficulty from the PTR:

• Perform a taunt swap every 5+ stacks of Jagged Abrasion.
• Face Harjatan towards the raid when he approacheds 100 Energy to split the damage from Unchecked Rage.
• Pick up the murlocs as they hatch.

• Coordinate healing cooldowns for Harjatan's casts of Unchecked Rage and Frosty Discharge.

• Focus down the Darkscale Taskmaster (Heroic only) and the murlocs that spawn from Harjatan's Commanding Roar.

• Avoid pools of Drenching Waters throughout the fight. They will be drawn towards Harjatan and absorbed by Draw In. He will then cast Frigid Blows and discharge them one by one via Drenching Slough.
• Split the damage from Unchecked Rage by standing in front of the boss when he reaches 100 Energy.

Positioning for Harjatan is flexible as there are not many mechanics that dictate movement.

• Ranged and Healers can form a loose stack behind the melee.
• Harjatan can be tanked where he spawns, facing away from the raid. When he is approaching 100 Energy, he should be faced towards the group so that as many players as possible will split his Unchecked Rage.
• When Draw In is cast, avoid the Drenching Waters. Ranged and Healers should spread a little towards the sides of the boss to bait the spawns of the new Drenching Waters from Drenching Slough. After Harjatan casts Frosty Discharge, resume the narrow spread behind the boss.
• Tank the Darkscale Taskmaster at least 10 yards away from Harjatan and the murlocs to avoid them becoming Focused.

Correctly positioning Harjatan and his summoned minions is of crucial importance. Failing to correctly rotate Harjatan to face the rest of the group for Unchecked Rage will result in the instantaneous elimination of both tanks, and therefore paying careful attention to his Energy bar is vital to success.

Separating the Darkscale Taskmaster from the rest of the enemies can be very helpful in reducing tank damage. This is not necessary to triumph, and the damage can be sustained through with coordinated cooldowns and strong AoE DPS on the adds. Separating the Taskmaster, however, is the safest recourse and is recommended for groups that do not outgear the encounter.

We advise you to use Bloodlust/ Heroism/ Time Warp on the pull. The add summons are not threatening enough to warrant a delay of cooldowns and using Bloodlust on the pull guarantees maximum damage due to cooldown synergy and the least mechanical interference.
