General Information

On this page, you will find a number of useful macros and addons to make your life easier when playing your Havoc Demon Hunter in World of Warcraft — The War Within (11.2).

1.

Havoc Demon Hunter Addons and Macros

Welcome to our Addons and Macros page. Here we will be covering helpful addons you can use to elevate your gameplay through a more informative UI, alongside provide some commonly used Havoc Demon Hunter macros.

2.

Havoc Demon Hunter Macros

Macros are accessible through the /macro command in-game, and allow you to create small scripts that will be executed when you press a keybind. These are very useful for combining multiple actions into one, so a common example is combining off-GCD trinkets with cooldowns within one press.

2.1.

Disrupt Focus Interrupt Macro

  • #showtooltip
  • /cast [@focus,exists][@target] Disrupt

This macro will stop your current cast and cast Disrupt Icon Disrupt on your focus if available; otherwise, it will be cast on your target (more information about Disrupt on our spells page).

2.2.

Consume Magic

  • #showtooltip
  • /stopcasting
  • /cast [@focus,exists][@target] Consume Magic

This macro will stop your current cast and cast Consume Magic Icon Consume Magic on your focus, if available, otherwise it will be cast on your target (more information about Consume Magic on our spells page).

2.3.

Sigil Targeting Macros

All Demon Hunter Sigils and Sigil of Spite Icon Sigil of Spite can be modified to be cast without needing to use the targeting circle, removing one input before they go off. This can be done in two different ways (replace the Sigil of Flame text with the name of your chosen Sigil), with the following placing it at your mouse cursor:

  • #showtooltip
  • /cast [@cursor] Sigil of Flame

Alternatively, you can cast it at your feet if you are well positioned already:

  • #showtooltip
  • /cast [@player] Sigil of Flame
2.4.

Metamorphosis Macros

Similarly, you can Macro Metamorphosis Icon Metamorphosis to be cast in the same way to instantly enter into it when you need to, with the following landing at your cursor:

  • #showtooltip
  • /cast [@cursor] Metamorphosis

Or in place where you are currently standing:

  • #showtooltip
  • /cast [@player] Metamorphosis
3.

Havoc Demon Hunter Weakauras

While there are a lot of Weakaura packs available on Wago, ones linked here are recommended for specific purposes to add functionality to the spec that otherwise cannot be found with the base UI. Havoc doesn't really have too many key things that need tracking outside of your own preference.

  • Ragefire Tracker - This Weakaura Link will provide you with trackers for each instance of Immolation Aura Icon Immolation Aura, alongside the amount of damage accumulated by Ragefire Icon Ragefire. Additionally, it will give you an audio warning when they're about to expire.
  • Shattered Souls Tracker - This Weakaura Link provides a number counter for how many Shattered Souls Icon Shattered Souls are currently active. Helpful for Aldrachi Reaver to know if you can trigger Reaver's Glaive Icon Reaver's Glaive or not.

Below are a few suggestions of addons that can augment the base Blizzard UI with additional features, making it easier to track key effects. These are helpful for organizing information while also making sure you keep track of enemy mechanics at the same time.

4.1.

Generic Addons for Demon Hunters

4.1.1.

Weak Auras

WeakAuras is an extremely useful addon that allows you to have visual effects on your screen, helping you track your buffs, debuffs and cooldowns. It is highly customisable and it can make it much, much easier to keep track of your procs and play your spec more proficiently. It can also be used for a variety of other functions.

4.1.2.

Boss Mods: Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs

Boss mods are addons that warn you about boss abilities and give you live advice on how to handle some mechanics. We strongly recommend you to get one such addon. At Icy Veins, we mostly use Deadly Boss Mods, the most popular boss mod. A good alternative is Big Wigs.

4.1.3.

Details!

"Details!" Damage Meter is a real-time DPS/HPS meter with a lot of additional functionality such as being able to see cooldowns, buffs, debuffs, damage done to specific targets, and statistical analysis. In our opinion, it is superior to Skada in terms of functionality, although it is slightly more complicated to configure. We recommend Details! as your default damage meter, but if you prefer something easier, then Skada is still a good option.

4.1.4.

GTFO

GTFO is a lightweight addon that notifies you when you are standing in harmful effects or when you are making other such mistakes. It is very useful, even if your boss mod is already alerting you of such things.

4.1.5.

Hekili

Hekili is a visual rotation aid that gives a visual cue to help players better grasp the moment-to-moment gameplay that can sometimes be overwhelming. It is regularly updated to align with new simulation profiles as and when they are created, and we highly recommend it as a tool both to learn with and as a helping hand to steer you along the right path, even for experienced players.

4.2.

ElvUI

ElvUI is a complete replacement of the default User Interface. It comes with almost everything you need to perform properly: action bars, unit frames, cooldown timers, proc displays, etc.
