Havoc Demon Hunter PvP Stat Priority, Gear, and Trinkets — The War Within (11.0.7)
Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Havoc Demon Hunter in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats, followed by advice on how to choose the rest of your gear and your trinkets.
This page is part of our Havoc Demon Hunter PvP Guide.
Stat Priority for Havoc Demon Hunters in PvP
The stat priority for Havoc Demon Hunter in PvP is as follows:
- Agility;
- Mastery;
- Versatility;
- Haste;
- Critical Strike.
Agility is the best stat in all situations. Mastery ( Mastery: Demonic Presence) is the strongest secondary stat at all times due to it increasing your Chaos damage and movement speed. You should also try to focus on getting Versatility. This will reduce the damage you take while increasing your overall damage.
Gear Recommendations
General Guidelines
In general, as a Havoc Demon Hunter, you want to get trinkets that increase your damage or survivability. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility or Agility. The reason you want to increase both of these stats is because they both increase your overall damage output, and the Versatility will help you survive more easily. Here is the best gear we recommend you use as a Havoc Demon Hunter.
- Head: Impalers of the Hypogeal Nemesis
- Neck: Algari Competitor's Amulet - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
- Shoulders: War-Mantle of the Hypogeal Nemesis
- Cloak: Forged Warmonger's Cape
- Chest: Chestguard of the Hypogeal Nemesis
- Wrists: Forged Warmonger's Wraps
- Hands: Claws of the Hypogeal Nemesis
- Waist: Algari Competitor's Leather Belt - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
- Legs: Algari Competitor's Leather Trousers - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
- Feet: Algari Competitor's Leather Boots - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
- Ring 1: Algari Competitor's Signet - Crafted with Versatility & Haste
- Ring 2: Forged Gladiator's Signet
- Trinket 1: Forged Gladiator's Medallion
- Trinket 2: Forged Gladiator's Insignia of Alacrity
- Weapon 1: Algari Competitor's Pickaxe
- Weapon 2: Forged Gladiator's Warglaive
Note: It is essential to be wearing 2 PvP trinkets. This will give you a Stamina and stat boost that will increase your survivability.
Best Cyrce's Circlet Gems for Havoc Demon Hunter
Cyrce's Circlet is a new ring introduced in Patch 11.0.7 that you can acquire by completing several activities on Siren Isle. The ring has 3 sockets, which can fit a different kind of gem each. There are four different gems available for each of the three sockets, for a total of 12 gems, so there is quite a bit of choice on what to socket.
Cyrce's Circle ring does not have any secondary stats and in PvP, Cyrce's Circlet Gems are heavily nerfed. It is not recommended to use it.
For more information on how to get the ring, as well as acquiring all of the different gems that you can possibly socket into it, check out our Cyrce's Circlet guide below!
Havoc Demon Hunter Tier Set
As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is also important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed by 50% in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Havoc Demon Hunter, this is your tier set:
- 2-set: Blade Dance deals 20% increased damage.
- 4-set: Chaos Strike deals 20% increased damage and has a 25% chance to reset the cooldown of Blade Dance.
4-set is not required for Havoc Demon Hunters, but getting 2-set is recommended.
Havoc Demon Hunter Embellishments
Embelishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have 2 Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Havoc Demon Hunters:
- Elemental Focusing Lens. This Embellishment causes your damaging spells and abilities to have a chance to deal damage to your target. This is a flat increase to your overall damage output. You want to craft this Embellishment on your boots and ring.
Gems and Enchants
Here are the best enchants and gems for a Havoc Demon Hunter:
- Cloak: Enchant Cloak - Chant of Leeching Fangs
- Chest: Enchant Chest - Crystalline Radiance
- Bracers: Enchant Bracer - Whisper of Armored Leech
- Legs: Stormbound Armor Kit
- Boots: Enchant Boots - Scout's March
- Rings: Enchant Ring - Cursed Mastery
- Main Hand Weapon: Enchant Weapon - Authority of the Depths
- Off Hand Weapon: Enchant Weapon - Authority of the Depths
Versatile Onyx is the best gem you can use. You also get access to 1 Meta Gem. You should use Enduring Bloodstone for the meta slot.
