General Information

On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Holy Paladin for each boss of the following raid: Liberation of Undermine. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — The War Within (11.1.0).

1.

Introduction

Below, you can find class and spec-specific advice for every fight in Liberation of Undermine. If you are looking for a general overview of the Raid that is not spec-specific, check out our dedicated Liberation of Undermine Boss guides.

On this page, you will find tips and tricks specifically tailored toward Holy Paladins and its toolkit based on the recommended talent build. It does not include general tips for mechanics, which are included in the full raid guide instead, whereas this page assumes that you are already familiar with most of the major mechanics of each encounter.

All recommendations are progression-based tips and will not necessarily be the best for an overall Healer ranking.

2.41.

General Healing Cooldown Usage

Holy Paladin has a few cooldowns to think about using optimally on the fights in Liberation of Undermine:

  • Avenging Wrath Icon Avenging Wrath - Our main, 2-minute cooldown.
  • Divine Toll Icon Divine Toll - Short cooldown anywhere from 45secs-1min depending on talents.
  • Aura Mastery Icon Aura Mastery - Raid wide defensive cooldown.

In general, you will want to use cooldowns as much as possible during a fight to maximize your healing. Avenging Wrath Icon Avenging Wrath should be lined up with larger damage windows that ideally last longer and take healers a bit to top players off. Divine Toll Icon Divine Toll should be used as much as possible, nearly off cooldown even when damage intake is low. Aura Mastery Icon Aura Mastery will likely be assigned by your healing officer, but otherwise aim to use it with very large hits or difficult healing windows.

2.42.

General Defensive Cooldown Usage

Holy Paladin has access to the very short cooldown, Divine Protection Icon Divine Protection which should be used as much as possible to reduce damage taken. Outside of this, Divine Shield Icon Divine Shield allows you to not only stop all incoming damage, but exploit certain mechanics. You can often use this to break out of forms of crowd control as well as soak mechanics that would typically require your entire raid to soak. The best way to use this defensive will heavily depend on the fight and what is actually happening. General rule of thumb however is that you should never die with Divine Shield off cooldown. Always use it if you are in danger.
