Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Holy Paladin in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats as well as guidance on how to pick up your best gear and your trinkets.

This page is part of our Holy Paladin PvP Guide.

1.

Stat Priority for Holy Paladins in PvP

The stat priority for Holy Paladin in PvP is as follows:

  1. Intellect;
  2. Versatility;
  3. Mastery;
  4. Haste;
  5. Critical Strike.

Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the next best stat as it will increase the damage/healing you do and reduce the damage you take. This is followed up with Master. Holy Paladin Mastery (Mastery: Lightbringer Icon Mastery: Lightbringer), when used with the Beacon of the Lightbringer Icon Beacon of the Lightbringer Talent, is crucial for Holy Paladins in PvP.

Gear Recommendations

2.1.

General Guidelines

In general, Holy Paladins want to get trinkets that line up well with Avenging Crusader Icon Avenging Crusader or Avenging Wrath Icon Avenging Wrath. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stats you want to increase are either Intellect or Versatility. You want to increase Versatility because it increases both your damage and healing. Intellect is great for increasing your overall healing output.

Here is the best gear we recommend you using as a Holy Paladin.

  • Head: Entombed Seraph's Casque Icon Entombed Seraph's Casque
  • Neck: Algari Competitor's Amulet Icon Algari Competitor's Amulet - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery

2.2.

Cyrce's Circlet for Holy Paladin

Cyrce's Circlet is a new ring introduced in Patch 11.0.7 that you can acquire by completing several activities on Siren Isle. The ring has 3 sockets, which can fit a different kind of gem each. There are four different gems available for each of the three sockets, for a total of 12 gems, so there is quite a bit of choice on what to socket.

Cyrce's Circle ring does not have any secondary stats and in PvP, Cyrce's Circlet Gems are heavily nerfed. It is not recommended to use it.

2.3.

Tier Set

As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is also important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed by 50% in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Holy Paladins, this is your tier set:

  • 2-set: Holy Shock Icon Holy Shock’s healing is increased by 10%, and its cooldown is reduced by 10%.
  • 4-set: Holy Shock Icon Holy Shock increases the initial healing of your next Word of Glory Icon Word of Glory or Light of Dawn Icon Light of Dawn by 8%, stacking up to 4 times.
2.4.

Holy Paladin Embellishments

Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have 2 Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Holy Paladins:

  • Energy Redistribution Beacon Icon Energy Redistribution Beacon. While above 80% health, your direct healing will redistribute up to 2% of your health to your target. This is great for increasing your overall healing output. Because this affect does stack, it is recommended to use 2 of them.
  • Duskthread Lining Icon Duskthread Lining. This Embellishment significantly increases your Versatility when you are above 80% health.
2.5.

Here are the best enchants for a Holy Paladin:
