2.1.

Defensive Tips

  • Desperate Prayer Icon Desperate Prayer is best used to counter the damage from Venomous Lash Icon Venomous Lash.
  • Fade Icon Fade can be used to drop threat and prevent the adds from coming after you, avoiding more stacks of Disembowel Icon Disembowel
2.2.

Cooldown Usage

  • Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn and Holy Word: Salvation Icon Holy Word: Salvation can be used during Hungering Bellows Icon Hungering Bellows. While on a shorter cooldown and can be used early and often, both Halo Icon Halo when talented into Archon and Premonition Icon Premonition when talented into Oracle can and should be used here as well.
2.3.

Mechanical Tips

  • Phantasm Icon Phantasm does NOT work on this boss as its abilities are roots and not a snare.
  • Angelic Feather Icon Angelic Feather and Life Grip can be used both for the pull during Carnivorous Contest Icon Carnivorous Contest for anyone too close to the boss, or to help with movement during the intermission where players need to quickly bring Chunky Viscera Icon Chunky Viscera to the boss.

Tips for Bloodbound Horror for Holy Priest

Note that it is early days and that this section will be far more fleshed out as the Season progresses and cool tricks and tips are found.

2.5.

Defensive Tips

  • You will want to use Desperate Prayer Icon Desperate Prayer whenever there is a Crimson Rain Icon Crimson Rain, especially if you are going to be in the next soak group as the Gruesome Disgorge Icon Gruesome Disgorge will happen immediately afterwards and you will want to be topped up for it.
2.6.

Cooldown Usage

  • Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn and Holy Word: Salvation Icon Holy Word: Salvation should be used for the overlap of Crimson Rain Icon Crimson Rain, Bloodcurdle Icon Bloodcurdle, and the Gruesome Disgorge Icon Gruesome Disgorge. You will need to make sure your team is topped before they are hit with the frontal and transported to the other phase where they will not be able to receive further healing from you.
  • In between these overlaps there will be other instances of Bloodcurdle Icon Bloodcurdle that will do small raid-wide damage that smaller healing cooldowns can be used on.
2.7.

Mechanical Tips

  • Make sure you are positioning yourself properly to easily soak the Gruesome Disgorge Icon Gruesome Disgorge that will transport your group to the other phase.
  • We can help with crowd controlling the small adds that get summoned with Psychic Scream Icon Psychic Scream, or Holy Word: Chastise Icon Holy Word: Chastise, if needed.

2.9.

Defensive Tips

  • You will want to use a defensive during the large raidwide damage, Shattering Sweep Icon Shattering Sweep.
  • If you are targeted multiple times with the Phase Blades Icon Phase Blades and Decimate Icon Decimate, that is also a good time to use a defensive.
  • Both Fade Icon Fade and Desperate Prayer Icon Desperate Prayer will have good use pretty consistently on this fight for all of the above mechanics.
2.10.

Cooldown Usage

  • Heavy cooldowns such as Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn and Holy Word: Salvation Icon Holy Word: Salvation will be best used during Shattering Sweep.
  • More minor cooldowns can be used during Decimate Icon Decimate, which does raidwide damage and leaves a dot depending on how many Simulacrums are destroyed.
  • If the Simulacrum mechanic is not done well, and this ends up with many of them being destroyed at once, that can also deal very heavy damage to the raid and may warrant an ad hoc cooldown such as Holy Word: Salvation Icon Holy Word: Salvation.
2.11.

Mechanical Tips

  • Most of this fight is about movement, you want to make sure you are close to the dropoff spot for the Simulacrums so you do not have to move as much if you are targeted.
  • You also want to make sure you are staying away from the boss as you will take extra damage from Shattering Sweep Icon Shattering Sweep if you are close to Sikran during it.

Defensive Tips

  • You should consider either Fade Icon Fade or Desperate Prayer Icon Desperate Prayer for the Erosive Spray Icon Erosive Spray whenever possible.
  • During Acidic Eruption Icon Acidic Eruption you will be moving and may not be able to stop and heal yourself, making this another good time for defensive abilities if you get low.
2.14.

Cooldown Usage

  • This fight has a lot of small spikes of damage - raid healing cooldowns will go well during the any Erosive Spray Icon Erosive Spray, which happen very often during the fight.
  • The Infested Spawn adds can also do a large amount of damage in a very short time frame if they are not properly crowd controlled, which you should be prepared for.
2.15.

Mechanical Tips

  • We can assist with crowd controlling the Infested Spawn with Psychic Scream Icon Psychic Scream.

Note that it is early days and that this section will be far more fleshed out as the Season progresses and cool tricks and tips are found.

2.17.

Defensive Tips

  • A lot of the damage in this fight can be mitigated by properly crowd controlling adds and keeping your tank topped off.
  • Save Desperate Prayer Icon Desperate Prayer in case it looks like the Voracious Worm will finish its cast of Poison Burst Icon Poison Burst, or use it when the Volatile Concoction Icon Volatile Concoction is going to expire on the tank.
2.18.

Cooldown Usage

  • Similar to the above defensive tips, raid damage can vary drastically depending on how other mechanics are handled.
  • There is planned raidwide damage when Broodtwister uses Ingest Black Blood Icon Ingest Black Blood, which will be a good time for Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation Icon Holy Word: Salvation.
2.19.

Mechanical Tips

  • Assisting with crowd control can be very helpful here if the team needs it, with either Psychic Scream Icon Psychic Scream or Holy Word: Chastise Icon Holy Word: Chastise.
  • Heroic - Sticky Web Icon Sticky Web will apply a slow to players which can be dispelled. Upon dispel, a root will be applied to players nearby the target, so make sure they run away before you dispel them.
  • You can personally use Phantasm Icon Phantasm to remove your own Sticky Web Icon Sticky Web if you get it, saving a dispel for another player.

Tips for Nexus-Princess Ky'veza for Holy Priest

Note that it is early days and that this section will be far more fleshed out as the Season progresses and cool tricks and tips are found.

2.21.

Defensive Tips

  • Fade Icon Fade or Desperate Prayer Icon Desperate Prayer can be used when afflicted with Queensbane Icon Queensbane, which will explode upon expiration.
2.22.

Cooldown Usage

  • This encounter can be tricky to play optimally - a good damage event for heavy cooldowns are the Nether Rift Icon Nether Rifts that will spawn every 30 seconds. Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation Icon Holy Word: Salvation are good for this - however the Nether Rift Icon Nether Rifts will suck you in and kill you if you fall into them, which can make Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn tricky to use if the Nether Portals are not placed properly. Be mindful of positioning so you do not waste Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn ticks.
2.23.

Mechanical Tips

  • While this advice may change depending on the strategy your raid use, try to stay in the middle as much as you can, so as to minimize the amount of movement needed for the fight. Leap of Faith Icon Leap of Faith can be used on players that are about to get sucked into a Nether Rift Icon Nether Rift.

2.25.

Defensive Tips

  • Use Fade Icon Fade or Desperate Prayer Icon Desperate Prayer for Reckless Charge Icon Reckless Charge, or when inflicted with the Stinging Swarm Icon Stinging Swarm debuff.
2.26.

Cooldown Usage

  • Raid-wide damage will happen during Reckless Charge Icon Reckless Charge, and Venomous Rain Icon Venomous Rain. Both are good times for Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation Icon Holy Word: Salvation. Make sure you are positioned properly for the charge before you start your Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn cast so you do not get caught up in it.
  • Stinging Swarm Icon Stinging Swarm can also do decent damage if your strategy involves dispelling all 3 debuffs at once.
2.27.

Mechanical Tips

  • In phase 2 a dispel mechanic will occur, Stinging Swarm Icon Stinging Swarm.
    • When this debuff is dispelled it moves to the closest player or to the boss Takazj.
    • The goal is to get all 3 of the debuffs onto the boss.
    • Wait for the player you are going to dispel to stand next to Takazj before dispelling.
    • You may also Mass Dispel Icon Mass Dispel all 3 targets at once on top of the boss if that is the chosen strategy for your guild.

General Defensive Usage Notes

Holy Priest has several defensive spells that you should plan to use and rotate throughout mechanics. You should opt to use the smaller cooldown spells often as needed with incoming mechanics and save bigger cooldowns like Desperate Prayer Icon Desperate Prayer for large incoming damage.

  • Desperate Prayer Icon Desperate Prayer.
  • Fade Icon Fade (with Translucent Image Icon Translucent Image talented).
  • Flash Heal Icon Flash Heal on yourself (with Protective Light Icon Protective Light talented).
  • Guardian Spirit Icon Guardian Spirit (if not needed for a specific ally).
2.34.

General Cooldown Usage

Holy Priest has a few cooldowns to think about using optimally on the fights in Nerub-ar Palace:

  • Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn — Our main, 3-minute raid cooldown.
  • Holy Word: Salvation Icon Holy Word: Salvation — Our secondary strong raid cooldown.

If you find your cooldowns are not assigned by your raid leader, you should look to use these as often as they will do healing without significant overheal. This is particularly important for Holy Word: Salvation Icon Holy Word: Salvation as much of your gameplay feeds into reducing the cooldown of Holy Word: Salvation, and this added bonus is lost if it is not being used.

Your desired mana potion should be used as soon as the additional mana won't be wasted. This can often be quite early on during an encounter and will help set you up to have plenty of mana for the later portions of the fight.
