Holy Priest Healing Sepulcher of the First Ones Raid Guide — Dragonflight 10.2.5
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Holy Priest for each boss of the following raid: Sepulcher of the First Ones. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.
Introduction
For the Holy Priest Boss Advice we got together with Shelanne, moderator for Warcraft Priests and author of their popular Holy Priest guide.
This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full Sepulcher of the First Ones raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Holy Priest and what you can do to deal with each fight as best as possible.
While general Covenant guide recommendations apply, there are a few bosses where you can benefit greatly from Venthyr and Night Fae's mobility options.
During the Dragonflight Pre-Patch, Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination, and Sepulcher of the First Ones will be simultaneously featured as Fated Raids. During this time encounters within each specific raid will include an additional mechanic and items will drop at increased item levels. If you would like to learn more general information about the Fated Raids system as a whole, please see our overview below. Otherwise, continue to use this page for specialization-specific tips.

The above recommendations all presume you are using the recommended Legendary Flash Concentration.
Vigilant Guardian
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Vigilant Guardian: Flash Concentration.
When Automated Defense Matrix reaches 100 energy there will be large amounts of damage going out. This is an ideal time for Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation.
After your raid has recovered from the damage, you have time to cast Potion of Spiritual Clarity, or Symbol of Hope to help people refresh their cooldowns ready for the next one.
Debuffs to track on Raid Frames
None.
For more information, please refer to our Vigilant Guardian guide.
Skolex, the Insatiable Ravener
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Skolex, the Insatiable Ravener: Flash Concentration.
As the fight goes on expect more and more damage to go out. Ephemera Dust stacks up until reset, which provides steady damage and every time it is reset the boss gains Insatiable which stacks up as the encounter goes on. Your group will want to plan raid cooldowns like Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation ahead of time so you can utilise unused cooldowns earlier in the fight to help conserve Mana. Running Benediction is a better option than Divine Star especially on higher difficulties as a lot of the strategies used require the raid to spread out.
Most of your triage healing will be on the players the furthest away, focusing your healing there when raid cooldowns are not being used will result in the most effective healing. Using Guardian Spirit on any of these targets that drop low can save their life, especially those with poor personal defensive abilities like Hunters.
Symbol of Hope and Potion of Spiritual Clarity are best used as required after Insatiable and after your raid health has stabilised.
Leap of Faith can also be useful to help any slow melee group up on your stack point and conserve their movement speed boosts to get back to the boss.

---|---|---|
364522 | Devouring Blood | DoT and haste reduction — cannot be dispelled on Mythic. |
359778 | Ephemera Dust | Stacking damage DoT |
For more information, please refer to our Skolex, the Insatiable Ravener guide.
Artificer Xy'Mox
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Artificer Xy'mox: Flash Concentration.
There is a lot of ticking damage on this encounter caused by Hyperlight Sparknova. That said, the bulk of the dangerous damage will happen during intermission when Genesis Supernova begins ticking and stacking up. You will want to manage your raid cooldowns such as Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation to keep the group healthy throughout Supernova.
After intermission there is a bit of downtime in healing required, and depending on upcoming mechanics can be a great time for Potion of Spiritual Clarity for your personal Mana, and Symbol of Hope to provide Mana to your co-healers and help DPS have their defensive abilities back up again.
This fight can have a lot of movement; It makes Soulshape for Night Fae and Door of Shadows for Venthyr quite strong, especially if you find yourself out of position during the rings.
Mythic has platforms groups that require a healer present. If you are chosen to do a platform, try to have both Holy Word: Serenity and Holy Word: Sanctify off cooldown off cooldown to help triage your group members. Damage ramps up the longer the platform takes due to increasing stacks of Ancient Exhaust, and can be particularly dangerous for anyone in your group doing multiple platforms.
Mythic Night Fae can be quite strong as you can Divine Hymn the first intermission. You then use Benevolent Faerie on yourself right after and then on cooldown and Divine Hymn will be up again for second intermission.

Spell ID | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
362801 | Glyph of Relocation | DoT on portal targets |
365752 | Ancient Exhaust | Stacking DoT on platform group |
Dausegne, the Fallen Oracle
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Dausegne, the Fallen Oracle: Flash Concentration.
Staggering Barrage and Infused Vulnerability provide small bursts of damage which is not deadly unless it is not properly soaked. This should not require any major cooldowns for your group. Instead you should be using raid CDs like Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation to counter the damage from Dausegne periodically casting Inevitable Dominion.
Mythic primarily adds more Disintegration Halo rings, which makes Soulshape for Night Fae and Door of Shadows for Venthyr quite strong to help deal with the additional movement requirements. Waves of Halos that are being soaked by players will typically have a raid cooldown assigned and acan be a good place for Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation depending on what your group has leftover for dealing with Inevitable Dominion.

361966 | Infused Strikes | Tank explosion |

Prototype Pantheon
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Prototype Pantheon: Flash Concentration.
Any players affected by the Necrosis debuff should be ignored as they are unable to be healed.
This fight adds Withering Seeds which spawn in the arena during the Prototype of Renewal phase. These seeds need to be healed up, Guardian Spirit is perfect to help heal them up faster. With each one healed you gain a stack of the Invigorating Bloom buff which greatly assists in healing the raid through Burden of Sin, and healing up the remaining seeds.
Windswept Wings causes high amounts of raid damage, and is the result of the Prototype of Duty casting Pinning Volley. This damage can be an excellent opportunity to use Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation provided you position yourself well. Talenting into Divine Star can also provide another spell to cast during these periods of high movement depending on your raids strategy and how stacked your group is.

Lihuvim, Principal Architect
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Lihuvim, Principal Architect: Flash Concentration.
A lot of the dangerous raid damage is during intermissions, where Protoform Radiance causes stacking damage and Degenerate is periodically cast on individuals. Keeping the raid healthy with cooldowns like Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation is key to ensuring that Degenerate targets survive the cast. Guardian Spirit is fantastic to help ensure someone survives their Degenerate cast, especially on classes like Hunters with minimal self healing.
Shining Force is great at helping control the adds by knocking them away if they get too close.
After intermission there is a bit of downtime in healing required, and depending on upcoming mechanics can be a great time for Potion of Spiritual Clarity for your personal Mana, and Symbol of Hope to provide Mana to your co-healers and help DPS have their defensive abilities back up again.

Halondrus the Reclaimer
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Halondrus the Reclaimer: Flash Concentration.
During phase one, Earthbreaker Missiles causes a lot raid damage you can help counter with Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation. Reclaim also causes a significant amount of raid damage and is another excellent time for raid-wide healing cooldowns. Just be sure to watch out for the beams as they will silence you if you are hit during Divine Hymn, cancelling it. Due to how spread out the raid is, do not be afraid to be aggressive with your usage of Guardian Spirit to help keep people alive, as it is not uncommon for most players to only be in range of one or two healers.
Intermission is very movement and healing heavy so make full use of your instant-casts to maximise your healing when you have to move. Leap of Faith can be good to save someone flying off the edge or help a slow raid member catch up.
After intermission there is a bit of downtime in healing required, and depending on upcoming mechanics can be a great time for Potion of Spiritual Clarity for your personal Mana, and Symbol of Hope to provide Mana to your co-healers and help DPS have their defensive abilities back up again.
Heroic and Mythic introduces Crushing Prism which when dispelled drops a slowing field, preventing the Ephemeral Motes from moving as quickly toward the boss. This should be dispelled on players in position to drop the field in front of one or two orbs.

Spell ID | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
365297 | Crushing Prism | Dispelling leaves slow field on the ground |
For more information, please refer to our Halondrus the Reclaimer guide.
Anduin Wrynn
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Anduin Wrynn: Flash Concentration.
Throughout the fight, Anduin will cast Befouled Barrier which is an absorb that needs to be healed through. Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation can be great to help break through the absorb quickly.
If you are tasked with getting phased by Kingsmourne Hungers, your priority is to heal up the Anduin's Hope adds. Guardian Spirit is great at quickly healing one of them up. You can also use Shining Force to help move the adds around and stack them up for the DPS to kill them.
Heroic adds a healing immunity debuff to Anduin's Hope adds which needs to be dispelled before you can heal them. You can use Purify for this, or Mass Dispel to get them all at once. Beware however, once dispelled they move much faster and need to be healed before reaching the edge.
Phase 2 you can use Shackle Undead to CC the reflection adds.
Be careful using Divine Hymn in the second intermission as the walls of March of the Damned adds will kill you if they hit you. Finding a safe location to cast this can be challenging depending on their spawns and your groups positioning.
Just before each intermission, Anduin moves to the center of the room and begins casting. This can be a great time for Potion of Spiritual Clarity for your personal Mana, and Symbol of Hope to provide Mana to your co-healers and help DPS have their defensive abilities back up again.
For more information, please refer to our Anduin Wrynn guide.
Lords of Dread
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Lords of Dread: Flash Concentration.
Anyone standing in the purple Fearful Trepidation circles will be feared by Bursting Dread and should be dispelled as soon as possible.
Around every 2 minutes, Mal'Ganis will cast Swarm of Darkness dealing AOE damage to the raid for 20 seconds. This is a perfect time for big healing cooldowns like Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation. Night Fae can use Benevolent Faerie on themselves to help get Divine Hymn off cooldown ready for the next Swarm of Darkness.
The adds that spawn deal bursts of AOE raid damage through Ravenous Hunger and can also be good candidates for any remaining raid cooldowns not used on Unto Darkness.
During the Infiltration of Dread intermission phase, you can continue to heal yourself if you get low. This means you can deal with mechanics if required and keep yourself alive. Make sure you are not healing yourself if you are chosen as the imposter, though as the raid will need to damage you to break you out as soon as possible.
This is a difficult fight to find a good time to stay still for 10 seconds for Potion of Spiritual Clarity or to cast Symbol of Hope safely. Usually after the green Cloud of Carrion circles are consumed by the purple Fearful Trepidation, and the green projectiles pass you, you have a small amount of time you can try to channel your Mana potion or Symbol of Hope.
Debuffs to track on Raid Frames
Spell ID | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
360148 | Bursting Dread | Fear that should be dispelled |
360006 | Cloud of Carrion | FGreen circle DoT increasing over time |
For more information, please refer to our Lords of Dread guide.
Rygelon
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Rygelon: Flash Concentration.
In Phase 1 players with Dark Eclipse should be prioritised with triage healing to ensure they do not die before they can clear their bomb. Guardian Spirit can be great to help keep bomb targets alive in an emergency.
In the downstairs phase, Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation can be used to counter the heavy raid damage caused by Stellar Decay.
Potion of Spiritual Clarity or Symbol of Hope can be used at most periods throughout the fight, particularly at the start of each upstairs phase.
For more information, please refer to our Rygelon guide.
The Jailer
We advise you to use the following Legendary against The Jailer: Flash Concentration.
Phase 1 there is a lot of spot healing required. Targets in danger of death can be saved with Guardian Spirit. Suffering causes heavy raid-wide damage and is a good time for Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation.
In Phase 2 you can stun the Rune of Compulsion targets while they are broken out using Holy Word: Chastise (With Censure talented).
In both Phase 1 and 2 if a player is knocked off by the Rune of Domination, you can try to use Leap of Faith to save them.
Phase 3 there are two main sources of healing required. The first is a Rune which causes players soaking it to be afflicted with a healing absorb ( Dominating Will), the second is Chains of Anguish being broken. Both of these are good times for Divine Hymn or Holy Word: Salvation.
Divine Star does not play nicely with the holes/pillars in this boss arena and should be avoided unless you are confident you can aim it well.
For more information, please refer to our The Jailer guide.
