Overview
Kel'Thuzad can only be truly defeated once his phylactery is destroyed. Until then, when Kel'Thuzaad reaches 0 health remaining he calls forth his minions to protect him while the phylactery opens and empowers him. During this window, players may enter the phylactery and attempt to destroy the Remnant of Kel'Thuzad. Once fully recovered, Kel'Thuzad gains a stack of Necrotic Surge and engages the players once more.
When the Remnant is destroyed, the phylactery shatters and Kel'Thuzad summons a Deep Freeze to unleash all his power before death can finally take him.
- Soul Shards continuously cast Piercing Wail inflicting damage to the raid.
- Kel'Thuzad cannot be defeated while the Remnant of Kel'Thuzad is alive.
- Frost Blast roots players during moments when mobility is paramount.
- Sinister Miasma continually stacks damage on players within the phylactery.
- Each Soul Shard created applies Soul Exhaustion to its summoner which cannot be removed unitl it is absorbed.
- Unstoppable Abominations inflict heavy damage.
Kel'Thuzad is a master of frost and shadow and until the phylactery is destroyed, remains immortal.
When depleted of mana, Kel'Thuzad summons a blizzard that creates ice patches. Standing in an ice patch inflicts 4,596 Frost damage every 1 sec.
These patches grow over 20 sec before exploding, inflicting 27,578 Frost damage to enemies within 8 yards.
Kel'Thuzad flays his current target, inflicting 18,385 Shadow damage and knocking the player away.
In addition, the target's soul is sundered into 2 Soul Shards, applying stacks of Soul Exhaustion for each shard created.
Once slain, their creator can collect their essence by touching the Soul Shard to remove one application of Soul Exhaustion.
The shard screams, inflicting 6,894 Shadow damage to all players.
Soul Shards bind the essence of the target, increasing Physical damage taken by 100% for 60 sec.
If this effect is not removed before the duration expires the target is slain outright.
Kel'Thuzad summons Glacial Spikes at player destinations, inflicting 16,087 Frost damage to players within 6 yards and knocking them back.
Once summoned, the Glacial Spike loses 5% health every 2 sec. Upon death the spike erupts, causing Frozen Destruction.
Once summoned, the Glacial Spike loses 5% health every 2 sec. On death the spike shatters, inflicting 9,192 Frost damage to all players.
Kel'Thuzad shrouds random players with necrotic energy for 6 sec, causing them to silence all creatures within 10 yards.
Kel'Thuzad hurls a chunk of ice at an enemy, inflicting 91,928 Frost damage divided evenly among players within 8 yards and inflicts 2,206 Frost damage every 1 sec for 12 sec.
In addition, this effect applies Frozen Binds.
Targets effected by Kel'Thuzad's Frost Blast are bound by icy restraints, rooting them for 12 sec.
Hurls an ice shard at the current target that inflicts 100% attack damage as Physical.
Stage Two: The Phylactery Opens
When Kel'Thuzad is defeated, the phylactery opens and restores him to life once more. While open, players can enter the phylactery to battle the last remnant of Kel'Thuzad's soul. It is during this time Kel'Thuzad uses March of the Forsaken to summon his minions to protect his exposed phylactery.
Continually inflicts 183 Shadow damage every 2 sec as long as a player is within the phylactery.
This effect stacks.
Each time Kel'Thuzad is revived by the phylactery, necrotic power surges through him increasing his damage done by 5%.
Additionally, each application also increases the number of players targeted by Oblivion's Echo and Glacial Wrath.
Kel'Thuzad unleashes a wave of death, inflicting 27,578 Shadow damage to all players.
This cast is interrupted if the Remnant of Kel'Thuzad loses 33% of its max health.
Kel'Thuzad drags souls from oblivion and onto the battlefield.
The Unstoppable Abomination's unholy strength allows it to inflict punishing melee attacks.
The Unstoppable Abomination unleashes a wave of necrotic energy in a line towards a random player, inflicting 17,236 Shadow damage to all players caught in the effect.
Soul Reaver's periodically unleash Banshee's Cry.
Every 1 sec the spirit launches missiles at random players that inflicts 3,533 Shadow damage.
At 33% and 66% health, the Remnant of Kel'Thuzad attempts to destroy anyone reamining within the phylactery with Undying Wrath and interrupts Kel'Thuzad's cast of Vengeful Destruction.
The Remnant constantly opens fissures at random target destinations, inflicting 17,236 Shadow damage to enemies within 4 yards and knocking them back.
The Remnant of Kel'Thuzad unleashes a wave of ice over players in a line, inflicting 5,781 Frost damage and rooting them for 4 sec.
The Remnant of Kel'Thuzad becomes immune to damage and unleashes a barrage of necrotic energy, inflicting 27,578 Shadow damage to all players within the phylactery and knocking them back.
Stage Three: The Final Stand
With the phylactery destroyed, true death awaits. Kel'Thuzad unleashes his full power to make his violent last stand.
Continually inflicts 183 Shadow damage every 2 sec as long as a player is within the phylactery.
This effect stacks.
Kel'Thuzad chills the air causing ice patches to continually form on the ground and last for the remainder of the encounter. Standing within these ice patches inflicts 4,596 Frost damage every 1 sec.
