On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Marksmanship Hunter for each boss of the following raid: Castle Nathria. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.
Introduction
On this page, you will find Marksmanship Hunter specific information for each boss in Castle Nathria. This is no encounter guide, but a collection of Marksmanship Hunter specific tips for each boss.
You should be playing Kyrian with Forgelite Prime Mikanikos on all fights except where otherwise noted.
During the Dragonflight Pre-Patch, Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination, and Sepulcher of the First Ones will be simultaneously featured as Fated Raids. During this time encounters within each specific raid will include an additional mechanic and items will drop at increased item levels. If you would like to learn more general information about the Fated Raids system as a whole, please see our overview below. Otherwise, continue to use this page for specialization-specific tips.
Best Talents for Raiding for Marksmanship Hunter
Below is the most commonly used build in Castle Nathria. Scroll down to individual bosses to see any changes to the build that are specific to that boss.
You can easily import the talent tree below into the game with the following string:
- B4PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA4AgWAggAAAAAARCRSCiQEJlQaABhmQSSIhgGAAAAA
Note that if a fight has the Chaotic Essence Fated Affix active, you should always swap to the AoE/Mythic+ Build that is referred to throughout this page.
Shriekwing
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Shriekwing: Surging Shots.
Tips
- There are no specific tips for this boss.
For more information, please refer to our Shriekwing guide.
Huntsman Altimor
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Huntsman Altimor: Surging Shots.
Tips
- You can solo Vicious Lunge with Aspect of the Turtle.
- When the dogs are being moved out of the boss' range, try to hold on to your Precise Shot stacks until they are stacked again.
For more information, please refer to our Huntsman Altimor guide.
Sun King's Salvation
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Sun King's Salvation: Surging Shots.
Talent Changes
Swap to the AoE/Mythic+ Build for this boss, found on our Talent Page.
Tips
- Use Misdirection on a tank whenever the adds spawn to help them get aggro more quickly, and save yourself from unnecessary damage.
- Be sure to maximize targets hit by Volley, and plan out its usage so that mobs are not moving outside of it.
- When cleaving, try to target the Vanquisher, because the Assassins will regularly teleport around the room and possibly cost you cleave damage.
For more information, please refer to our Sun King's Salvation guide.
Artificer Xy'Mox
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Artificer Xy'Mox: Surging Shots.
Tips
- You can use Aspect of the Turtle while running over Stasis Traps to clear them. Combine with Aspect of the Cheetah to get further.
For more information, please refer to our Artificer Xy'Mox guide.
Hungering Destroyer
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Hungering Destroyer: Surging Shots.
Tips
- Use Aspect of the Turtle and Feign Death (if using Resilience of the Hunter) if your Health drops low while having the Gluttonous Miasma debuff.
- Use Exhilaration if you are on low Health just before dropping off the Expunge debuff to decrease the size of the effect.
- Use Aspect of the Turtle, in combination with Disengage (with Posthaste) and Aspect of the Cheetah, to soak as many of the blue Expunge orbs as possible.
- If you have no other sources of enemy healing reduction on your group, consider using a "Mortal Wounds"-pet such as a Carrion Bird (Ferocity), Riverbeast (Tenacity) or Raptor (Cunning). This will reduce the boss' healing done by Hungering Strikes significantly.
For more information, please refer to our Hungering Destroyer guide.
Lady Inerva Darkvein
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Lady Inerva Darkvein: Surging Shots.
Talent Changes
Swap to the AoE/Mythic+ Build for this boss, found on our Talent Page.
Tips
- You should be constantly aware of add spawn timers and be ready to use Volley and Double Tap for them.
For more information, please refer to our Lady Inerva Darkvein guide.
The Council of Blood
We advise you to use the following Legendary against The Council of Blood: Surging Shots.
Tips
- Use Disengage with Posthaste to quickly get into position for the dance.
- Abuse Careful Aim on the adds that spawn whenever possible.
- Remember that bosses heal when you kill one of them, so you should not be using Multi-Shot unless there are adds stacked on the boss.
For more information, please refer to our The Council of Blood guide.
Sludgefist
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Sludgefist: Surging Shots.
Tips
- Make use of the 12-second 100% damage taken debuff after he charges into a pillar. Keep in mind that both Wild Spirits and Trueshot last longer than this damage taken debuff, allowing you to use them a bit before. You can also "pre-cast" a Double Tap- Aimed Shot into the debuff, treating the boss' pillar timer as a pull timer.
For more information, please refer to our Sludgefist guide.
Stone Legion Generals
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Stone Legion Generals: Surging Shots.
Tips
- For Mythic Difficulty, use Steady Focus instead of Chimaera Shot.
- For this fight, you should "delay" your opener for when the first add spawns. This means that you should not precast Double Tap, but instead save it for your Resonating Arrow/ Trueshot combo. You should also save Volley for these moments.
For more information, please refer to our Stone Legion Generals guide.
Talent Changes
Swap to the AoE/Mythic+ Build for this boss, found on our Talent Page.
Sire Denathrius
We advise you to use the following Legendary against Sire Denathrius: Surging Shots.
Talent Changes
Swap to the AoE/Mythic+ Build for this boss, found on our Talent Page.
Tips
- For this fight, you should "delay" your opener for when the first add spawns. This means that you should not precast Double Tap, but instead save it for your Resonating Arrow/ Trueshot combo. You should also save Volley for these moments.
