Maruuk Centaur Reputation Overview in Dragonflight (10.0.2)

The Maruuk Centaur comprise the main clans of Centaur that settled on the Dragon Isles long ago, during the first war with the Burning Legion, with the help of their guiding wild spirit, Ohn'ahra. These clans, though spread across the Ohn'ahran Plains, still often meet in their ancestral village of Maruukai to peacefully discuss clan business and remember their pact of friendship with the nearby green dragonflight. Now, with the clans shaken by a betrayal from within, it is up to you to help the clans stay united against The Nokhud Offensive and honor their promise to aid the dragonflights against the threat of the Primalists.

You will first gain access to this Renown-based reputation early on in Dragonflight while questing through the Ohn'ahran Plains zone. Progression properly begins with the quest Maruukai, sending you to the Centaur home of the same name. At this point, you may also pick up the Orientation: Maruukai quest to help introduce yourself to many of the important NPCs involved with its rewards. Note, however, that you may still earn reputation with the Maruuk Centaur even before being able to claim any rewards for reaching higher Renown levels.

Although all Renown-based reputations in Dragonflight mostly contain "optional" rewards such as mounts, cosmetic armor and weapon appearances, toys, battle pets, titles, and unique Dragonriding customizations, they also provide access to a variety of additional activities within the zones of the Dragon Isles that also reward extra gear that may prove valuable while initially gearing a character at Level 70. In addition, note that many of the rewards and features from this reputation are account-based unlocks that also feature catch-up mechanisms for alts. This is especially helpful if you wish to acquire some of the unique Profession recipes that are locked behind specific renown levels.

If you are behind on your Renown, you may wish to take advantage of the Dreamsurges present throughout the zones of the Dragon Isles as of Patch 10.1.7. In addition to providing easy access to catchup gear for your character as you do world quests in a zone with an active Dreamsurge, you may also occasionally receive the Dreamsurge Learnings buff for 30 minutes at a time. This buff increases your experience and reputation earnings by 50% while active!

For the Maruuk Centaur in particular, here is a summary of all rewards available from maximizing its 25 Renown levels:

Although there are many NPCs among the Maruuk Centaur, there are a handful that are more important due to being frequent vendors of its many Renown rewards. Refer to the labeled map below for their locations.

In particular, you will want to meet up with Quartermaster Huseng in Maruukai, who will act as your quartermaster for most Maruuk Centaur rewards!

In addition to the cosmetic rewards offered at various Renown levels, there are a number of Profession recipes available for purchase as well. Some of these may prove especially important for you if you are looking to make some extra Gold or acquire additional profession knowledge! One of the key unlockable features of the Maruuk Centaur reputation is the ability to participate in hunts with Clan Shikaar against various beasts of the Dragon Isles. This feature is first unlocked at Renown level 5, though it is an account-wide unlock; that is to say, only one character needs to have reached this renown for any further characters to participate.

These hunts consist of what are essentially extended world quest activities — defeating a large number of beasts, powerful boss-level enemies, and gathering valuable resources for the centaur clans to use back in Maruukai. Upon completion of your first hunt for the week, you will receive Grand Hunt Spoils, containing Gold, Dragon Isles Supplies, gear, and even rare cosmetics like the Plainswalker Bearer mount!

However, with each subsequent hunt completed for a week, your rewards will be reduced ( Grand Hunt Spoils, Grand Hunt Spoils, and eventually Grand Hunt Spoils). After completing 6 hunts in a week, you will receive no further rewards. Remember, though, since it is only the first completed hunt per character each week that offers the best rewards, you should not feel forced to participate in every hunt.
