Best Hero Talents for Mistweaver Monk in The War Within
This page is specifically about Hero Talents in The War Within. If you want to learn more about the best regular talents for Mistweaver Monk, check out our Talents page:
Raiding Hero Talents for Mistweaver Monk
Conduit of the Celestials is our strongest Hero Talent for many
scenarios. It provides strong utility, throughput, and defensive capabilities,
while slotting into our current play style very neatly. The gameplay centers
around a powerful 90 second healing and damage cooldown that's supported by
random procs and buffs peppered in by the other talents in the tree.
Master of Harmony's gameplay is based around using your DPS and healing
abilities to charge a "healing battery". When you cast
Thunder Focus Tea,
for 10 seconds all your heals will draw from the battery and place a HoT on the
target for 25% of the amount healed. In theory this tree is kind of neat and has
some interesting ideas going for it. That being said, it performs slightly worse on average
than
Conduit of the Celestials in a raid environment.
Mythic+ Hero Talents for Mistweaver Monk
Both Conduit of the Celestials and
Master of Harmony perform
excellently in Mythic+, and which you choose to use will depend largely on your
goals and/or experience. Conduit provides an extra throughput cooldown which can
be extremely valuable while pugging or if you are uncomfortable with the dungeons you
are running. Master of Harmony on the other hand, loses this safety net in exchange
for a substantial DPS increase.
Best Hero Talent Builds for Mistweaver Monk
Best
Conduit of the Celestials Raid Build for Mistweaver Monk
Conduit of the Celestials offers us two choices to customize the tree for our particular purposes.
The first is between
Niuzao's Protection and
Jade Sanctuary. Most of the time we will be taking
the former, as adding a shield to our most powerful defensive is generally going to be better
than gaining a damage reduction that is tied to throughput cooldown.
Our second choice is between Inner Compass and
August Dynasty, and seeing as how
Jadefire Stomp is not a talent that we use in raids, you should take Inner Compass.
Best
Conduit of the Celestials Mythic+ Build for Mistweaver Monk
Conduit of the Celestials in Mythic+ is almost identical to the raid build, however we swap out
Inner Compass for
August Dynasty. If you find that you are not needed the extra healing, you can also
change out
Temple Training for
Xuen's Guidance.
Best
Master of Harmony Build for Mistweaver Monk
Master of Harmony offers an enormous amount of bonus damage to our kit
making it an ideal choice for Mythic+. The extra charges of
Thunder Focus Tea from
Endless Draught
allows us to make use of
Jade Empowerment more often, granting us higher overall damage in a key,
as well as extra throughput on particularly nasty trash packs.
Hero Talents Rotation for Mistweaver Monk
Conduit of the Celestials
The moment to moment gameplay of Conduit of the Celestials revolves
largely around spending
Strength of the Black Ox procs that we get from
Courage of the White Tiger. We gain these procs by doing your rotation
normally, so you just need to be cognizant of when you have them available to
you so that you can spot heal someone in need, while also proccing shields on
your group. It should also be noted that you are guaranteed a proc when using
either
Tiger Palm or
Vivify for the first time after you invoke
either of your Celestials.
At the risk of somewhat burying the lead, the standout ability of
Conduit of the Celestials is obviously
Celestial Conduit.
This is a very powerful healing cooldown that can be used frequently due to its short
recharge time, and thanks to
Unity Within it will also proc significant
cooldown reduction on all your rotational cooldowns as well as
Life Cocoon.
Master Of Harmony
Master of Harmony requires you to be a bit more aware of when you
press
Thunder Focus Tea. You want to make sure you are set up to deal
the most amount of damage you can during these windows, so getting 4 stacks
of
Teachings of the Monastery prior to using Thunder Focus Tea is important.
This will allow you to quickly apply your
Aspect of Harmony DoT to as many
targets as possible, but also to ramp that damage up via
Coalescence.
