Talent Cheatsheet for Mistweaver Monk
Taloc
More Taloc Guides on Icy Veins

Taloc is a very straightforward fight from a healing perspective. The only
wide source of raid damage comes in the form of Cudgel of Gore. Besides
that, the only targets that need real attention other than the Tanks will be
players afflicted with
Plasma Discharge. Keep these players healthy
with
Vivify and
Enveloping Mist as needed, while using
Essence Font for each Cudgel.
In terms of positioning during this fight, standing in melee or ranged is
acceptable. Place your Transcendence with whichever group you will be
stacked with, and use it to port back into position after dropping off
Plasma Discharge. Using your
Roll/
Chi Torpedo to leave
the group also offers greater flexibility in your positioning.
For the elevator, again, you can stand with either the ranged or the melee,
though the melee will take more situational awareness, as you will be following
the Coalesced Blood as it is kited. Remember to place your
Transcendence close to your stack, just in case you are struck by a
Volatile Droplet and need to port back onto the platform.
M.O.T.H.E.R.
More M.O.T.H.E.R. Guides on Icy Veins

The most threatening aspect of MOTHER is the damage dealt to the raid as
they pass through the Defense Grid. Your group is likely to send over
multiple people during the first crossing of each Grid, so it is important to
be ready with a
Revival or a fully charged
Upwelling to
mitigate that. However, based on the speed of your group, or the assignments of
your raid cooldowns these might not be options for you. The Tank who is tanking
MOTHER should be your primary focus while
Essence Font is on cooldown,
and you two should be the last two to cross over each Grid. The reason for this
is because Mistweaver Monk has some of the strongest single-target healing in
the game, as well as the fact that Essence Font can heal targets on either side
of the Grid.
In terms of positioning, you should be standing close to the
Defense Grid. This is to ensure that
Essence Font will hit as
many people as possible. For
Transcendence placement, you have some
options: you can place it in the center of the room so that you can largely
ignore the
Wind Tunnel mechanic, or you can place it on one of the safe
spots for the vertical
Uldir Defensive Beams so you can pre-position on
the other. Either of these options are a little superfluous though, seeing as
how powerful
Chi Torpedo is at completely countering both the Wind
Tunnel and the Defensive Beams.
Fetid Devourer
More Fetid Devourer Guides on Icy Veins

This encounter succeeds or fails based on Tank healing. Not only does Fetid
Devourer melee attack tremendously hard, but the combination of
Fetid Frenzy and
Terrible Thrash can be disastrous.
Essence Font every
Shockwave Stomp, but otherwise make sure you
are keeping your Tanks as topped-off as possible.
For positioning, you should be angled in such a way that you are not knocked
in a totally different direction than the Tanks. You can be in melee range and
in front of the boss, but off to the side. This way your Essence Font
can hit the raid, but you will still be pushed in the same direction as the
Tanks. You can also use
Transcendence to negate the movement of every
other Stomp.
Vectis
More Vectis Guides on Icy Veins

The majority of the healing requirement from this fight will be handling the
damage from Contagion and the absorbs from
Immunosuppression.
There is nothing particularly bursty or threatening to heal, so using
Revival early and often is ideal. If you are running with a larger
group size,
Refreshing Jade Wind can see incredible value, where as if
you are running with a small group, or your group does not have a lot of melee,
the
Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane can be a solid pick.
You want to stand with the melee generally so that you can DPS the boss
during downtime. Between transitions or at the start of the fight, you will
want to help ferry an Omega Vector into melee if they all end up in
ranged. One trick that is important to utilize as a Monk is using
Transcendence to separate stacked debuffs. Each Omega Vector's jump is
offset from another by about half a second, so as a Monk you are able to
Transcend between those two jumps and split the debuffs, should more than one
end up on one person.
Zek'voz, Herald of N'Zoth
More Zek'voz, Herald of N'Zoth Guides on Icy Veins

For Zek'voz you are going to be switching between using Essence Font
to handle the
Titan Spark and
Surging Darkness, and
priority healing the Tanks and
Roiling Deceit targets.
For the majority of the fight you will want to be stacked up in melee. In
Phase One, use Transcendence and
Chi Torpedo to quickly exit
the group when targeted by
Eye Beam, and use
Ring of Peace
and
Leg Sweep to crowd control the Silithid Warriors. In Phase
Two, use
Paralysis to interrupt and incapacitate the
Nerubian Voidweavers. Finally in Phase Three, use all of your crowd
controlling abilities to keep players afflicted with
Will of the Corruptor locked down until the raid can deal with them.
Zul, Reborn
More Zul, Reborn Guides on Icy Veins

This fight is a weird one for healers. There is essentially nothing to do
until Phase Two, at which point the fight really begins. For Phase One, simply
use Essence Font to heal the
Dark Revelation while spot healing
the raid and Tanks. If you can fit a
Revival into Phase One, then do
so, but make sure it is up again for Phase Two. Outside of healing, make sure
to use your
Paralysis to interrupt the Nazmani Bloodhexers as
well as using
Ring of Peace and
Leg Sweep to control any
Animated Ichor that get too close to Zul.
In Phase Two, you can use Essence Font essentially on cooldown due
to the ticking damage from
Corrupted Blood. When
Death Wish
goes out, wait until the two players leave the group, then dispel one and
immediately follow that up with a
Revival. The healing from Revival
happens before the dispel so if you try to dispel both players using just
Revival, then a good portion of its healing will be wasted. Besides that, the
Tanks are going to require a metric ton of healing during this phase because of
Rupturing Blood. Pay careful attention to their stacks, and be readying
to apply all your HoTs to them as they leave to drop their stacks.
For positioning, you are going to want to be stacked up in the middle of the
room with the rest of your raid. There are no mechanics on this fight that
punish stacking, and in fact Death Wish actively encourages it.
Mythrax the Unraveler
More Mythrax the Unraveler Guides on Icy Veins

Mythrax is a fight where you can use Essence Font nearly on cooldown.
Your raid is going to want to use healing cooldowns early and often just for
efficiency.
Ring of Peace can be used to knock players out of
Oblivion Sphere, just be sure not to knock out too many at one time.
Keep an eye on when people with
Imminent Ruin are going to explode, and
make sure players with low HP are topped off.
If your raid is light on melee DPS, then it is recommended to stand in melee
range, however space can get tight as group sizes increase. Remember to place
your Transcendence where you plan to stand during the fight, to allow
yourself to quickly port back if you need to drop off an
Imminent Ruin.
G'huun
More G'huun Guides on Icy Veins

In Phase One, you are going to want to spot heal the raid while DPSing down
adds G'huun spawns. If you are assigned to run the Power Matrix then
make sure you leave early and save all your movement abilities. With a Warlock
gate, it is possible for Monks to solo carry the orb, however it requires your
Transcendence to be placed ahead of time. For example, what you can do
is on the first Matrix spawn, go up with the first team in order to help clear
Amorphous Cysts. Make sure they do not pass the orb to you, then
simply place your Transcendence 40 yards from the end of the Warlock Gate. Then
on the third Power Matrix, run up to your side, grab the orb, take the gate,
Transcend, then
Chi Torpedo twice and you will be at the end.
In Phase Two, you are going to want to be in melee if possible, however
depending on group sizes, this might not be feasible. If you do manage to grab
a coveted spot in melee, make sure you pay close attention to where
Virulent Corruption orbs are traveling. If they are moving through the
boss they can be very difficult to notice until it is too late.
Essence Font can be used basically on cooldown due to
Putrid Blood, and the Tanks will need extra attention when
Gibbering Horrors spawn. In that same vein, it is incredibly important
to track the energy of the Gibbering Horror so that you know when a
Mind-Numbing Chatter will interrupt you.
For Phase Three, make liberal use of your movement speed abilities in order
to dodge Malignant Growth and be sure to turn away from G'huun when he
casts
Gaze of G'huun.
