Mythic+ Healer Rankings: PTR Tier List for The War Within (Patch 11.2 / Season 3)

Last updated on Jul 06, 2025 at 10:53 by Petko 194 comments

From the weakest to the strongest specialization, each provide unique character distinction and add value toward shaping the seasonal "meta" of Mythic+. These PTR-based Healer specialization rankings provided for The War Within's third Season of Mythic+ are based on pure Healer throughput and group-added-value such as utility, mobility, and survivability.

This list will be updated as new tuning and class changes come out over the course of leading up to the season's start and beyond.

About the PTR Tier List

Our analysis provides an estimate of the current Mythic+ meta with weekly updates every Monday on the website and every Sunday live on stream, until Season 3 arrives. However, it is important to remember that there will be many more changes, and what you see is not the final product. Instead, it is a progression of how each specialization performs from the start of the PTR to the actual season release.

If you are interested in the DPS and Tank versions of this 11.2 PTR Tier List, check the links below!

If you are interested in our current tier list for TWW Season 2 Patch 11.1.7, you can find that below:

Please note that anything I say is purely subjective and represents my opinion. However, it is an educated guess based on numerous hours of PTR testing and extensive discussions with some of the best theory crafters from each of their specs. If you have a different opinion, that is perfectly fine. I will be happy to answer any questions in the comment section. After the PTR testing is completed, we will compile all the data and create the official Tier List of Season 2. Thank you for reading, and enjoy!

Criteria of the Tier List

This tier list is entirely based on healer performance in Mythic+. The factors that are considered are HPS and DPS output, external cooldowns, utility, durability, and mobility.

Please keep in mind that what you're about to read is a preliminary iteration of the 11.2 Season 3 tier list in The War Within expansion, and it WILL change before the season is released. Nothing written here is a guarantee or promise. All opinions are subjective and should be taken with a grain of salt. I update this tier list every Sunday at 14:00 CEST live on my stream, before being uploaded on the website. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Discipline Priest Discipline Priest

Discipline Priest got minor changes leading to Season 3, which won't impact your performance. Their healing and the ability to apply absurdly big shields/spot-heal is one of the best compared to all the healers, which is the most important factor when ranking healing specs. In addition, they will retain their strong external utility packages such as 2x Pain Suppression Icon Pain Suppression and Power Word: Barrier Icon Power Word: Barrier. Further tuning will tell how they turn out, but as of now, they remain as one of the best healers.

Best-Candidates
Restoration Druid Restoration Druid

Restoration Druid has gotten its fair share of changes leading up to Season 3, most notably receiving an amazing tier-set that fits perfectly in Mythic+. Their current HPS capabilities are ranked among the best while keeping your incredible party-wide utility unchanged. This is the driving factor for their placement as we believe they are currently among the best Healer options for Season 3. Future tuning will show us the final placement for Restoration Druid but for now, we are quite positive!

Restoration Shaman Restoration Shaman

Restoration Shaman received its fair share of changes, most notably a brand new tier set. They will retain their incredibly party-wide utility and healing capabilities, while also providing amazing mob-control for your party. Restoration Shaman is incredibly strong in physical damage-oriented comps due to their Skyfury Icon Skyfury buff, which makes even a lucrative pick-up just like last season. Overall, a strong contender for the top healing spot, but only future tuning will show us!

A
Holy Paladin Holy Paladin

Holy Paladin received quite a bit of change, with the most notable being the introduction to their brand new tier-set. Both healing and damage output at the moment are looking good, but nowhere near exceptional levels where some of its healing competition is ranked. Their toolkit remains the same - one of the best party-wide utilities paired with strong defensiveness (even immunity), and excellent mob control. Overall, we expect them to continue to be a solid choice for a healer going into Season 3, but further output buffs must be implemented before we rank them higher.

Mistweaver Monk Mistweaver Monk

Mistweaver Monk received almost no relevant changes leading to the next season, with the most notable being the change to Vivacious Vivification Icon Vivacious Vivification to proc off from Rising Sun Kick Icon Rising Sun Kick casts instead of flat every 10 sec proc. That, in combination with how great Jade Bond Icon Jade Bond talent has been (especially the CDR thanks to Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane Icon Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane) makes their output amazing. Mistweaver's current HPS profile is great, as it can easily tackle any given encounter in Mythic+ while contributing to the team with its great damage profile (yes, most of your damage still requires you to be in melee). All of this combined plays well with the strong utility package they offer, while still being a contender for the best fit within the physical oriented teams.

Preservation Evoker Preservation Evoker

Preservation Evoker has received its fair share of changes, most notably the introduction to its brand new tier set. Their performance, more specifically their damage and especially healing output, has been great, making it a great pick-up with any group composition. Overall, they do not stand out as the best healing option for Mythic+ simply because of how hard it is to make them work in a pug environment and the inability to compete with the top healing specs for pure output. The group awareness must be present for them to understand how your healing profile works so that you can unlock your full potential. We believe this spec is in a much better spot for raiding than it is for Mythic+ and only future tuning will showcase its final rankings.

Need more testing
Holy Priest Holy Priest

Unfortunately for Holy Priest, they had no relevant changes leading up to Season 3, this causes no shifts in your gameplay compared to what you are already used to. They will maintain their decent DPS and HPS profiles, which output is not enough to rank them higher on the tier list compared to the rest of the healing specs. However, it is noteworthy that this specialization is considered one of the easier healing options due to its reactive healing capabilities, which are adept at addressing any form of incoming or sustained HPS challenges. Further tuning will help us have more accurate ranking of the spec.
