A player decided to queue for a Solo Shuffle, but instead got hit with over 60 declines in a row.
Shadokaaaa was just trying to have a good time and queue up for some solo PvP adventures. Meanwhile, other players weren’t having it – they declined over 60 times in a row. This is after the first queue pop came 10 minutes in, and still nothing came of it. At this point, it feels like it’s harder to get into a Solo Shuffle than into a Mythic+ group – and that’s just sad.
Why Is That Happening?
The most obvious answer is that some players are trying to game the system – they queue up with friends, and when they don’t land in the same lobby, they simply decline. And when it comes to PvP these days… nothing really surprises anyone anymore.
Possible Solutions
One idea is to make queue pops happen in waves, say every 1 to 5 minutes depending on content popularity. That way, everyone’s queue would pop at the same time, and players wouldn’t know which group they were getting into – making dodging less effective.
Another solution is something League of Legends already does – after a few declines, you get a queue cooldown, typically 5–10 minutes, before you can queue again. Even just adding a simple “queue dodge” debuff would go a long way in protecting the solo PvP experience from abuse.
What do you think of the current PvP queuing experience? How would you change it?
