The hype for player housing is still going strong, and the community, as always, is full of thoughts and ideas, so let’s take a look at some of them.
Housing Development
We’re starting with some thoughts on neighbourhoods, and how many Blizzard might begin with if they go down this route. There’s also thinking about the potential public role playing implications if the neighbourhoods can be accessed by anyone and would allow cross faction compatibility. Some concerns do appear about a potential limited availability of housing, like it happened in FFXIV.
Next on the line are some suspicions that the Delve technology could likely be used to enter the player homes. Plenty of players are hoping for Guild Halls to pop up as well, which would likely elevate the feeling of belonging to a guild. Especially if players would be able to set up their own rooms in there, in case they can’t afford a house.
Some Wildstar reminiscing is also going on, because some feel it had a great system for housing. It was based on instanced plots of land where you could go crazy and build almost anything, with great customization options.
Here’s one longer opinion about the practicality of houses, and what might happen it they only turn out to be personal instances and cardboard cutouts without any functional use. Portals, furniture that gives buffs, interactable items, and raid meeting places all sound great, and would definitely make player houses much more than just a passing fancy.
The Housing Memes
We can’t end an overview article without some quality memes, and taking us off is a banger Animal Crossing X WoW leaked screenshot of future house acquisitions. And some potential indentured servitude. The community never fails to deliver. Khadgar’s good ol’ math comes into play as well.
And for the end, a droll garrison commentary, and hopes that Blizzard learned a lot from them. And that they apply it to player housing as what not to do.
Ideas, hopes, worries, and memes are overwhelming at the moment, and it would take many, many pages to sort them all out. This just shows the hype is supercharged, but so might the expectations be. So let’s hope for a better castle at midnight.
