We see quite a few changes after the big tuning pass from last week, and while the very top most popular specs remained the same, there’s some tank tuning coming this week that might just change that. The DPS logs are much more fluid, as we have a new No.1 in the All Percentiles bracket, as the buffed specs move up quite a bit.
The Data
The data used in this article comes from Raider.IO‘s excellent analytics tools, taking into account all Mythic+ runs across all levels of play. The data is focused on this reset and not on the season as a whole.
The Most Popular Specs in Mythic+
While Retribution holds on to its top spot, we do have a brand new No.2, coming in from way down in 17th place, as Guardian is taking things over in the tank department. This week’s tank tuning is buffing four other tanks, so we’ll see if the dominance lasts. Beast Mastery rises into 4th, moving past Unholy, and Resto Shaman is officially the most played healer.
Runs by key level
We see an untimed 23 and 20+ specs participating in 22s.
And here are the full numbers, including the amount of runs.
Group Composition Popularity
A new top spec arrives once more, as Mythic+ is still very much in flux. Almost the entirety of the top group is new, as we see Guardian in the tank slot, Resto Shaman instead of Druid in the heal spot, and only Unholy remains for the DPS, as Ret and Demo come in. Brewmaster retains only the No.2 spot, as we see Guardian once again in the third group, where we also see Beast Mastery unexpectedly pop up.
Mythic+ DPS Logs
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing. This means that they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor. It is a much, much smaller factor, however. It grants only a few points for significantly faster completions compared to just any in-time finish. We’re also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity. This means that the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
95th percentile DPS
The top 3 stays stable here, but we see plenty of changes right after that. Demo drops off two spots, allowing Arms and Outlaw in, with the Rogue making a huge jump from 10th into 5th. Survival also moves a spot in 8th, pushing Feral down. Retribution manages to hold on to the top 10, dropping two spots. Affliction moves a few spots up out of the bottom 3, with Marksmanship now joining Devastation and Destruction.
All Percentiles
Unholy takes over in the generalist bracket, just barely inching past Augmentation after its buffs. The next few spots remain stable, but Survival takes down Ret for 6th, and Subtlety is the rising Rogue here, rising a very impressive 4 spots into 8th. Fury moves even more spaces, up 9 in 9th, just ahead of the rest of the Rogues.
Very High Key Raw DPS Numbers
Note: We’re also taking a look at the raw damage numbers from Mythicstats. They take the top runs for extremely high keys (+16-22) from WarcraftLogs and list the overall DPS for the dungeon, which includes non-combat time as well. They’re ranked by the average DPS numbers, with the very top of the top shown next to it.
Unholy moved past both Demo and Devo over the past two weeks, and the Warlock passed the Demon Hunter. Retribution moved up a little, and Arms and Outlaw quite a bit. Affliction is tearing things up in the high keys when it comes to raw DPS after its fixes, as it moves 13 spots up just this past week!
