After Nearly 8 Years, Our Legion Artifacts Ended Up… in the Trash?

It’s been almost 8 years since Legion introduced Artifacts, legendary weapons that defined each class and spec. Players spent the entire expansion leveling them up, unlocking traits, and wielding their power. But by Battle for Azeroth, they were retired, their energy drained to counteract Sargeras’ blade plunged into Azeroth.

Now, after all this time, we finally know what happened to them… and it’s not what anyone expected!

In the War Within Patch 11.1, players visiting the Demolition Dome in Undermine can spot some familiar weapons, buried in trash cans! Iconic weapons like the Ashbringer or T'uure, Beacon of the Naaru iconT’uure, Beacon of the Naaru, have been discarded among the rubble, seemingly forgotten.

This unexpected discovery raises questions: Were they simply tossed away after losing their power? Did someone dispose of them intentionally?

A Nod to the Past, Or a Future Plot?

It’s unclear if Blizzard included this as a simple Easter egg or if it holds deeper lore implications. Xal’atath, once an Artifact herself, might have a reason to despise them!

What do you think? Is this just a fun Easter egg, or does it hint at something bigger?
