The WoW community never ceases to amaze with ideas, some admittedly crazier than others, and creativity when it comes to their favorite pastime. This time it’s not a crazy one, and it’s one we’ve seen in the past as well, which doesn’t make the endeavor any less impressive.

ConservationOfWumbo deals in some high-quality map porn. They’re currently on a quest to turn all 50 US states into exquisite WoW-style maps, this one makes it 37/50. It’s been a four-year journey and it’s not over yet! Here’s the latest entry, No.37, Louisiana:
Map Man Begins
And the one that started this map makeover journey four years ago was a map of Virginia, ConservationOfWumbo’s home state. You also have to wonder what their thoughts were back then when they asked the question below. And if they possibly silently regret it.
The community response was overwhelmingly positive, and the first map entry currently stands at 18k upvotes. The rest, as they say, is history.
ConservationOfWumbo’s work truly speaks for itself. But what if these maps were the actual MMO? It’s not hard to envision a very different kind of game. Atheist-Paladin took an amazing crack at explaining.
Iowa and Minnesota round out the last three WoWified states, and we hope ConservationOfWumbo completes their magnum opus. And ends up turning it into a gigantic WoW-style map of the US.
