As the 11.1 PTR arrived, we’re discovering more about the upcoming Season 2 of The War Within. One of the new details that surfaced is an increase in the required number of Delves players will need to run to get all three Great Vault slots for that row unlocked at maximum item level. However, it’s unclear if this change is intended or if it’s just an old bug/missing hotfix resurfacing.
An All-Round Increase
First spotted by xZerocidex, it looks like Season 2 might be requiring more Delves/World Events to fill out those World category slots in the Great Vault. Currently, in Season 1, we need 2/4/8 runs to fill out the Vault. That may be changing to 3/6/12 in Season 2.
However, as many players in the comments theorized, it could be just a bug. At the start of Season 1 players were required the same 3/6/12 amounts we’re seeing now. After two weeks of the expansion release, this was changed to what it is now on live realms via a hotfix. And so it could be that the current PTR state is just missing that one little hotfix.
Alternatively, Delves are getting a gear boost in Season 2, as they’ll be granting Gilded Crests. And so it might make sense that Blizzard could want to limit them in some other way. We can’t be sure at the moment, but we’re leaning towards the bug/missing hotfix theory. If it’s actually intended, the responses in the thread are very negative, so Blizzard might rethink it anyway.
