Blizzard is nerfing Augmentation Evokers in Patch 11.1 which may affect their role in the Mythic+ meta.
In the datamined Patch 11.1 class changes, we saw a big change affecting Augmentation Evokers in the upcoming season. Specifically:
Ebon Might no longer affects tanks or healers. 
Close as Clutchmates: Ebon Might and 
Breath of Eons are now 25% more effective when not in a raid.
The nerf to Ebon Might suggests Augmentation Evokers will no longer be a mandatory pick for high-level keystone dungeons.
