Boost Yourself to 80 Fast With Your Own Twink!

Staff's Avatar by Staff

The man with the deep voice is out again with another great one! Danta has dropped an amazing and easy guide to creating your own twink which you can then use to level your other characters! It’s pretty hard leveling a bunch of alts, especially if you are like him and have around sixty at level 70. As we’ve already covered, Fury Warriors are the thing now in Timewalking dungeons. Well, this is kind of it – let’s go through on how Danta did it!

Before we get on with the guide, he made the mistake of buying another account to make a twink, when you can simply make it on a trial.

Which Race & Class to Choose?

Danta went through all the good classes you can use for this: Fury Warrior, Mistweaver Monk, Arcane Mage, Druid and Holy Priest. He personally picked a Fury because it has a lot of survivability, and a Mistweaver Monk with a Rising Sun Kick iconRising Sun Kick is insane – it can literally take out 50% of a boss’s HP in one hit.

As for what race to choose, you can pick whatever you like the most, but some races can give you an edge. For example, his monk is a Lightforged Draenei. With his racial ability, Light's Judgment iconLight’s Judgment, which drops a laser beam and creates an insane amount of damage, combined this with one Rising Sun Kick gives you a chance of instantly one-shotting a boss. On the other hand, his Warrior is a Dracthyr, and their double jump and gliding abilities can help you skip certain parts of the dungeons.

Gear Your Twink & Lock XP

During the 20th anniversary, you get great gear right from the start, which, depending on your class, can immediately make it possible to solo dungeons – especially if you add lifesteal enchants to your weapons. At the celebration area in the Caverns of Time, you can find two vendors. With these two, you can buy all the gear you need. You can check out the full armory here and the specific items and where to get them below.

Full Twink Warrior Gear List:

  • Circle’s Stalwart Helmet – Saving the Sporeloks Quest
  • Amnesia – Forgotten Creation Azure Span
  • Truth Bearer Shoulderguards – The Underbog / Swamplord Musel’ek
  • Frostwolf Advisor’s Cloak – PVP Vendor Tanaris
  • Unscarred Breastplate – The Slave Pens / Guagmirran
  • Runed Golem Shackles – Classic Timewalking Vendor Tanaris
  • Ironblade Gauntlets – The Blood Furnace / The Maker
  • Studded Girdle of Virtue – The Underbog / Ghaz’an
  • Bloodlord Legplates – The Blood Furnace / The Maker
  • Boots of Avoidance – Classic Timewalking Vendor Tanaris
  • Stichflesh’s Misplaced Signet – Necrotic Wake / 1st boss
  • Don Julio’s Band – Classic Timewalking Vendor
  • Greka’s Dentures – Greka’s Urn Treasure / Shadowmoon Valley
  • 2nd Trinket: Any Timewalking Trinket with nice stats or on use effect

Some classes benefit from level 11, but some are just better at level 10, so be aware of that. To lock your XP you have to talk to an invisible NPC in your faction’s capital. Alliance players have Behsten in Stormwind near the Battleground Masters, while Horde players have Slahtz in the Orgrimmar barracks.

Start Boosting Yourself

This is the tricky part, as you’ll need to run 5 WoW clients at the same time. It can work with fewer, but you’ll need some luck with matchmaking. Basically, if you make a party with your XP-locked twink, other players in that party won’t be receiving any XP. What you have to do is make a group without actually being in a party. Basically you want to make it so all 5 of the characters in a random LFG are yours. For the exact details, check out Danta’s explanation below, in the final chapter of the video.
