Everyone has certain items they obtain on each character, just for fun, genuine usability, or unpredictable consequences when used with another player. From something frivolous, like a magic banana, to something much more useful, like maybe the Ultimate Gnomish Army Knife. All this, of course, if you know about any of them.
What’s One Thing You Always Get?
Over on Reddit, iWORKBRiEFLY‘s set up thread to see what everyone’s favorite items are – the ones they get on every character they make. iWORKBRiEFLY favorite item is a Brazier of Awakening, which allows you, when placed on the ground, to resurrect one nearby party or raid member after combat. Sounds perfect for some surprise Warrior resurrects.
The community was quick to chime in with their favorites and must haves. And there’s plenty of golden nuggets of advice for many useful items and more than a few curious in the thread.
For example, Mourning Glory, which is a reputation item from The Tillers in Mists of Pandaria. It makes flowers sprout from your corpse when you die, allowing your teammates, or your enemies, to properly mourn you.
Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide also seems to be a popular item. And to go with it, there’s even a short, but to the point farming guide for Darkmoon Faire tickets. Just in case you’re not overly fond of reading books from the Faire. And if you missed it, tickets are now a Warband transferrable currency, so they’re much easier to stack to big numbers.
Many have also mentioned the three guild cloaks you can buy from the Guild vendor, which allow you to teleport to main cities. The great thing about them is that they don’t share a cooldown.
A seriously practical item on many people’s lists is the Ultimate Gnomish Army Knife from Warlords of Draenor. An interesting quote is attached to the recipe for this one, “Once you have an Ultimate Gnomish Army Knife in your possession, this recipe will create a version without jumper cables that you can sell to pathetic non-engineers.” Talk about some engineering snobbery.
One player also has a very practical use for one of the items he acquires, a Stinky Bright Potion. Although the name is quite a misnomer, they do seem to brighten up the day. And obviously, its counterpart, Inky Black Potion, is pretty crucial too, especially since it makes so many zones look MUCH more cool.
There are many more great items and downright bizarre curious for collectors mentioned, and one player has the right idea.
Oh, and that Magic Banana from the beginning? It’s the real deal, and it seems it caused more than one wipe in its heyday. Maybe the banana glory days could be ahead of us again!
