Blizzard has posted a preview of the D.R.I.V.E. System coming in Patch 11.1 in the form of G-99 Breakneck iconG-99 Breakneck, the very first dynamic ground mount in World of Warcraft.

Earn a new customizable vehicle and engage in D.R.I.V.E. as you drift at high speed through the streets of Undermine.

A cool acronym needs a cool meaning, and the goblins haven’t skimped on the meaning of D.R.I.V.E.’s. Standing for Dynamic and  Revolutionary  Improvements to Vehicular Experiences,  you’ll want to make sure you have your sweet ride to roll around town in.

Players can earn the customizable G-99 Breakneck vehicle to use exclusively in their adventures within Undermine. You’ll push the boundaries of locomotion on the roads speeding through its causeways and byways at a higher rate than a ground mount can.

No More Walkin’ Here

After a few starting quests in Undermine, Gas Grimeshank will decide it’s taking you too long to get around town. He sends you to meet with Nanny Talullah at the Caddy Shack about some wheels.

You’ll first need to complete the quest “License Not Required” from Nanny Talullah to get a feel for driving around Undermine. You can move your car the same as you would walking or mounted by using your mouse or mouse and keyboard to get around. By holding the Spacebar, you’ll also be able to drift around corners. Drifting will also power up your boost for when you need to get an extra burst of speed or slide past some hostiles on your way to your next job.

Nanny Talullah can get you on the road with steady “Shipping and Handling” work.

It’s easy to get lost in the city streets, but when you’re on the job, you’ll see a large arrow above you (both outside the car and while mounted in the car) to help guide you where you need to go.

A golden ring and arrow will show you where the next pick up or drop off areas are.

When you’re first starting out, your vehicle will only have a Horn (2) and the Eject (6) available to you until you complete the “License Not Required” quest and have Mobber at the garage to install the Boost (1) in your G-99 Breakneck. Once you’ve gained access to the vehicle, all your characters in your Warband will also have access.

Customizing Your Ride

As you play through Undermine, you’ll pick up additional customizations for your vehicle. You can find some customizations through vendors and others from treasures (or trash), and even from rare enemies.

Players can adjust the car’s characteristics such as adjusting its color or by buying parts to add a little extra grip to hug the roads or adjust to slide and glide as they drift around corners. Want to accelerate faster? Then, you may have to sacrifice a little speed. How you customize your car’s characteristics is up to you.

“Shipping and Handling”

Nanny Tallulah doesn’t just set you up with a cool new ride, she also has some jobs available to you. You can either see her directly to pick up Personal Caddy Caller which lets you pick up jobs while out of the car or Start a Job or Clock Out from a job (5) right from the dash controls of your car.

Periodically, you can also take part in Surge Pricing to earn bonus rewards for completing “Shipping and Handling” jobs at the same time as other players. To view the schedule for the next Surge Pricing, open the Quest Log (L) and select the Events tab on the right-hand side.

Feed Your Need for Speed

Visit any Timekeeper in Undermine to test your driving skills through the various courses in Undermine either forward or reverse. Keep an eye on your boost power and make sure to drift to keep up the pace.

We hope you enjoy your new G-99 Breakneck. Don’t worry about parking. It’s all fair game.
