Dracthyr Wins, Humans and Elves Follow: Character Customization Option Numbers by Race

Staff's Avatar by Staff

Here’s another bit of statistical analysis as we get to see just which (base) races have the most visualization options! The game pretty clearly has a “living” bias, especially for women, as Undead females have the least amount of options to choose from! It’s almost as if the sheer volume of available flesh is a factor…

Dragons Are Fabulous, and so are Humans

Let’s get to the actual numbers then, as the (potentially relevantly named) ILiveAtWalmart gathered up all the base races (due to not having unlocked all the Allied ones) and counted up the character creation options. The Dracthyr destroy the competition very handily with 255 options. You would think their dual nature helped, but no, the number is only for the non-visage form! So those 83 more options than the next highest race would get even more excessive if we counted their other half.

There’s even speculation that the only reason Dracthyr stopped at 255 is a technical limitation!

We see the Horde got pretty solidly shafted here, with their top race getting 49 fewer options than the top Alliance race. The bottom of both factions is actually pretty close, with Undead ladies and Worgen gentlemen being only 4 apart; however, the Worgen also only got their wolf form counted.

There was even an update, as kebab-time counted up the Demon Hunter-specific totals for the two elves.

What do you think about the customization options? Should the races be closer together, or does it make sense for some to have more details?
