Season 2 Delves are actually better than their Season 1 counterparts, despite the drop in base item level from the start. We have Harldan taking us through the most efficient way to gear through Delves and just how to get that 639 piece and then some!
This Week’s Bonus Loot
Unrelated to the video, which applies to all weeks of Delves, this week also has the Delve bonus event! This will get you another piece of Champion track 639 loot when you complete 4 Tier 8 Delves.
639-649
The item level 639 is pretty straightforward, as that’s just the item level Bountiful chests drop loot at. However, there’s a way to get more than your Bountiful key’s worth of 639 gear each week! For the 649, as you’ve probably already figured out, we’re going for 
Delver’s Bounty. However, there are optimal ways of getting to it. You can find all the info in the video below, but here’s a quick summary
- Unlock Delve tier 11 by running the fastest Delve variant you can find over and over. You’ll want the Tier 11s for the bonus Gilded Crests (three runs per week capping out at 21 Crests). If you can’t quite handle 10s this early, you can stop at 8 until you get some gear.
- Unless you got lucky and already got the Delver’s Bounty, gather up 2000 Undercoin and grab the
Wave Scrambler 2000 from the Delve vendor Finely in Dornogal. - Use the Scrambler at any save spot/summoning stone-looking checkpoint in a Delve. It will summon The Underpin, Season 2’s Zekvir. It’s a 1-use item, so you may want to use it in a group and then re-summon him with your friends’ Scramblers once the 1-hour cooldown is done.
- He will drop a guaranteed Delver’s Bounty, and has a 50% chance to drop a 639 item. The Bounty can only drop once per week and is usable in any Delve tier.
- You’ll want to run a tier 8 with the bounty to get the 649 item.
