One of the more welcomed announcements for the War Within was undoubtedly the fact that Heroic week was returning. Well, at least for the Race to World First viewers and players! Well, it seems that’s only temporary. Today, we found out the decision will not be extended after the first raid of the expansion.
In case you’re not aware of what Heroic week is, it’s the one additional raid reset where a new raid releases with only Normal and Heroic modes available. It’s important to RWF raiders so they can gear up their many, many, MANY alts needed for progression. Arguably it’s even more important for RWF viewers, because it means they don’t have to follow Normal and Heroic splits for half the Mythic week during the race.
The announcement came in an interview with Game Director Morgan Day on Liquid Guild Master Max’s stream. Day explained that Heroic week made sense for the expansion launch and first raid, as players needed more time to get their gear ready for Mythic. However, in Season 2, that will no longer be the case. And so Mythic difficulty will launch at the same time as Normal and Heroic.
And the RWF wept!
