We’re looking at a leveling guide video by Danta. This time it’s not about a level 10/11 character, since after some nerfs the level 70 twink takes its place!
Why a Level 70 Twink?
Not long ago, Blizzard nerfed level 10/11 trial twinks:
- Timewalking vendor gear has a lower item level.
- Warbank access removed – no more sending enchants/gems to trials.
- Trial accounts can’t enchant or gem gear anymore.
These are the reasons why low-level twinks don’t work like they used to. The only downside to this method is that you need a second subscription to boost yourself – you can’t do it on your main to boost your alts.
Set Up a Second Account
After securing your second account, make sure it does not own The War Within expansion.
Why? Because pre-TWW accounts auto-lock XP at level 70, which is exactly what you want.
Choose a Class
You can either go Demon Hunter (Blood Elf) for fast movement, double jump (to skip bosses), strong self-healing, and high Mastery for speed and damage – or go Boomkin (Night Elf recommended) for high AoE damage, Shooting Stars while moving, and Shadowmeld for utility. Danta chose the Demon Hunter. Also, make sure to pick a high-population realm to speed up crafting orders, improve AH access, and ensure gear availability.
Level to 70
Once you’ve chosen your class, level it to 70.
You can do this in around 2 hours by spamming Timewalking dungeons, or just quest your way there.
Another alternative:
Gear Up Your Twink
Next and probably the most important part is gearing.
- Trinket: Start by buying item level 584 Algari Competitor’s trinkets from the AH.
Spark of Awakening - Run Dawn of the Infinite on Mythic. Once per week, the gear is ilvl 509 (519 if deathless).
- Heroic mode is repeatable and drops
Splintered Spark of Awakening. - 2 Splinters = 1 Spark. You need 12 Sparks in total if you get no gear drops.
- Tier Set Gear:
- You’ll need any 4 of these: Helm, Shoulders, Chest, Legs, Hands.
- Convert them to tier gear using the Revival Catalyst.
- Gear must be from Mythic Dragonflight dungeons (ilvl 493).
Crafting the Rest of Your Gear
Danta’s Setup:
- Embellishments: 2x
Blue Silken Lining (boosts Mastery) - Stats:
Draconic Missive of the Peerless (adds Mastery + Crit to all pieces) - Submit as public orders (he offered 100g commision).
- On high-pop realms, items can be crafter in minutes.
Add Enchatns & Gems Danta Used:
- Helm: Socketed →
Deadly Amber gem. - Neck: Added 2 sockets via
Tiered Medallion Setting → 3x 
Masterful Ruby. - Cloak:
Enchant Cloak – Chant of Burrowing Rapidity. - Chest: Enchant Chest – Stormrider’s Agility.
- Bracers: Nerubian Novelties.
- Weapons: Enchant Weapon – Wafting Devotion (on both).
- Belt:
Shadowed Belt Clasp. - Legs:
Fierce Armor Kit. - Boots: Enchant Boots – Plainsrunner’s Breeze.
- Rings: Enchant Ring – Radiant Mastery +
Deadly Onyx + 
Elusive Blasphemite.
Boost Your Characters!
Some key features:
- You don’t affect other players’ XP gains like a level 10 twink would.
- You can queue Timewalking with any character (level 1–80).
With this method:
- Boosting 10–80 takes ~3–4 hours.
- Boosting 70–80 takes ~1–2 hours.
