Liberation of Undermine Race to World First: Day 1

Staff's Avatar by Staff

It was always going to be an uneventful day, especially with Heroic week gone and forgotten, and LoU did not disappoint. We’re going to have a pretty short write-up this time around, as none of the top guilds went anywhere near Mythic, not even touching Gallywix Heroic!

The Splits

As usual, the first day (and most likely the next 2-3 as well) was all about gearing up. Normal splits went first and we saw some Heroic ones as well, and even some Delve groups! All three top guilds got to participate. NA maintenance was “only” extended by an hour, and EU maintenance came in right on schedule. And Echo and Method have been going at it since that 5 AM reset.

The Kill(s)

We only got one World First on day 1, but a few Mythic kills. Melee Mechanics grabbed another early WF for their collection, taking down Vexie and the Geargrinders pretty much as soon as the raid opened. It took them three pulls to get it done, and they were done with Mythic after that.

We got three more Vexie kills during the US night, with Humble, Diva and Vulgar taking down the gang. Only Diva dared to do a few pulls on a second boss, getting 5-deep on Rik Reverb before calling it a night, with the last few pulls done with 15 players!

There was also the first Gallywix kill ever, as he was not tested on the PTR. However, we only got to see the Normal version. No one ventured quite that far into Heroic, with the top guilds doing some Heroic splits, but none including Gallywix.

And that was that for day 1. We’re likely to see a few more days like this. And there’s even been talk of the dreaded Mythic splits, as the raid has Warbound Hero track drops! God help us all!
