Several quests and weekly activities are receiving massive XP buffs, altering speedrunning routes and making the levelling process from 80-90 feel less grindy.
Legendary Speedrunner Harldan showed off his 12.0.7 levelling route with the upcoming buffs and XP changes, finishing with a time of 1:38:13.
The run includes the 25% Warband Mentors XP buff, the 15% XP buff from War Mode, and 10% XP buff from Darkmoon Faire. The run does not include the 30% 
Mastery of Timeways buff from Turbulent Timeways, since the event isn’t active until June 30th.
Harldan shaved roughly 40 minutes off his previous record thanks to the changes, but believes further optimization is still possible.
Some Steps to Optimize the Run
He starts his run about 30 minutes before the daily reset because some delve stories are much more efficient than others. The Calamitous story from Shadowguard Point is an efficient delve and lines up with fast stories for most delves, with the exception of Parhelion Plaza. He starts his run at this time to ensure by the time he hits Parhelion Plaza, the story has changed.
Harldan uses a WW Monk because of their kit. On his discord, he explained that WW Monks have multiple shorter cooldowns that help it do heavy burst, and outside of Druid has the best mobility in the game. He cautions that not knowing how to use their defensive kit does mean you can get into some trouble, but their burst damage, mobility, and properly using Touch of Death makes them the best at leveling.
There’s some elements of RNG involved in the run. In the introduction of his video, Harldan talks about the inclusion of Saltheril’s Soiree and Prey quests into the speedrunning route. Both are worth completing, but the quests and locations can vary a lot.
On his discord, Harldan confirmed he will be looking at further optimizations, but is going to wait until Turbulent Timeways is live.
Harldan’s Addon Helps Players Level Quickly
For players looking to follow his routes to get through the level 80-90 grind, Harldan created the addon Follow The Arrow for leveling.
The addon is designed to be accessible for all players, and offers routes for players working through their first character or their alts.
The addon only covers Midnight leveling so far, with plans to eventually include a 1-80 route for each faction and a 70-80 route for TWW. It’s updated to include the 12.07. changes.
