The third week of the season is over and we are looking at the Mythic+ data provided by Raider.IO. The total completed run numbers have barely dropped (-2.69%). We are also seeing more timed runs in general, while the completion rate is up by 2.36 percentage points. More and more runs are completed within the gilded crest range, and we already see more completed Key Level 10 runs this week than in any week during Season 1. The focus on individual dungeons has also been changing a lot, so let’s look at the details.
Total Runs Across All Dungeons
Compared to week 2 the total completed keys have dropped by about 36.000 which is just 2.69%. For Season 1 week 3 this was already a 15.64% drop-off. With a completion rate of 80.61% we are now also clearly ahead of Season 1 at this point which was quite rough with 75.71%. In addition we are seeing a bit more than 5.100 additional timed keys compared to last week.
The dungeon split has now completely shifted towards the 5 TWW dungeons. Cinderbrew Meadery is leading this week, and a look at many of the listed keys for it reveals that almost anyone is targeting this dungeon for the Strapped Rescue-Keg necklace, which is a Best-in-Slot item for many specs due to its massive Haste value. Down the line, the order still seems somewhat affected by focus on certain dungeon drops like trinkets from the Priory or Operation: Floodgate. The Rookery tuning is still giving players some issues in terms of completion rate.
Darkflame Cleft is slowly climbing the ranks, mostly due to its phenomenal completion rate of 87.91%. Mechagon Workshop and Theater of Pain display the lowest completion rates with 75.37% and 76.27%. The latter is being avoided due to its 5 boss fights. The MOTHERLODE is doing quite well in general with the second highest completion rate of 84.39%. However, its runtime of 39 minutes makes it less of a favorite for quick vault entries. But in general no dungeon is really falling behind in terms of participation or in time percentage.
Split Across All Key Levels
Last week we already saw a major shift towards the gilded crest keys. This week it has increased further with 71.51% of all keys being completed at Key Level 7 or above. Below 7 the participation compared to all keys has dropped by 20% or more for any level. Above, we are still rather close with only level 8 falling by more than 15%. Meanwhile, 25.16% of all keys are completed just as a +10. This is a clear jump from 20% last week. From 11 to 16 we see increments of factor 1.6 to 5.3 while key level 17 still seems to be the limit for now. This will of course climb some more with higher item levels reaching towards the current cap of 678 and the new helmet enchants being added in 11.1.5.
The completion rates for all key levels have once again only gone up. The hero track farm key level 6 is now sitting at 94.16%. The drop-off towards key level 7 (83.07%), introducing the Tyrannical affix this week, is just 11.09 percentage points – it was at 18 last week. The jump from 9 (81.55%) to 10 (72.82%) is also marked by a loss of just 8.73 percentage points. This is a slight improvement compared to last week (10.69 points). In general, the key level split curve seems to be getting close to its final long-term form for the season. A decent entry-level bump followed by a first peak around 6 and 7 due to gear and crest focus, and the major peak at 10 for the vault slots.
Key Level 10 Runs Are Way Easier Than In Season 1
Looking at the most important key level for your weekly vault, we can now see massive improvements compared to the previous season. In the third week, we already see more completed +10 runs in Season 2 than in any other week of Season 1. The completion rate for that one particular week in Season 1 is higher, but only due to it being the eighth week when players had comparatively better gear and a higher crest cap. The in-time percentage is also way ahead of Season 1 with 72.82%, a value that you wouldn’t get close to in Season 1 until week 6. This development might be the biggest indicator of success for this entire season. And over time we will be taking a look at metrics like these with further comparisons to previous seasons.
Conclusion And Early Numbers For Week 4
As we can see, the upward trend continues. A strong focus on higher key levels with great success rates, allowing players to farm gear and crests at a high level. Meanwhile the lower levels are displaying an easier climb through the keys than the previous season. No dungeon is falling out of favor or is visibly underperforming.
As of the writing of this article – around 50 hours after US reset – early numbers for week 4 are looking even better. During this week, the dungeon event quest is available, giving you a piece of heroic raid loot after finishing 4 mythic dungeons. Unlike last season, heroic dungeons are no longer an option. This is already impacting the focus on Mythic+ this week. For EU and US we are seeing 11% and 7% more keys within the same timeframe. The early focus on the weekly quest is driving the numbers up, but week 4 might finish with close to or even more completed runs than the previous week – quite common once the dungeon quest is up. The in time percentage for week 4 by now is sitting just above 84%. Key level 10 is showing a similar value while also presenting more than 28% of all completed keys.
Next week Nightstalker314 will once again deliver a data breakdown, and on Sunday we will be looking at the individual dungeons of this season when it comes to wiping and runback times.
